Originally posted by FabianFnasYes, this is still the opening. There are no hard & fast rules as to when a game shifts from the opening to the middlegame. I generally consider the middlegame to start when both sides have developed (most of) their pieces and secured their king.
This game is still in its opening phase, don't you agree?
But when does it progresses into the middle phase? Is there such a criteria? Like moving a rook (except for castling), or the queen, or perhaps exchanging knights or bishops?
Please, can anyone keep an eye on the progressing of the game and give me a hint when it turns from opening game to a middle game...?

www.chesslab.com quote only six games with this position, with these final results:
+1 =2 -3 ( one draw was a quick one and the other one was a real disaster for black pieces who couldnt win with 4 pawns in advantage ! 😠... )
