My guess is as good as yours. I was in favour of cxd before and just sticking to the idea, that's all. 5.d4 is completely understandable, only I would have preferred 2.d4 in that case.
5.d4! After that White needs to get in Bd3 and 0-0 pronto. Unfortunately this means he is going to get a rather passive game for a while, and Black may manage to seize the initiative due to the lack of a White Nc3.
One continuation is 5.d4 Be7 6.Bd3 dxc4! 7.Bxc4 0-0 8.0-0 Nd5! and if White plays Nc3 Black can capture and give White the "isolated pair" and blockade c4. White's queenside light squares will consequently be potentially weak. That is the way I'd play it as Black anyway.

Black is ready to castle and has the better game.
Originally posted by Mephisto2Ah! You're right, I missed that move. Gains time time on kingside development in that White must block with a queenside piece, and that Black will gain a good rook on the K-file.
Did you consider 5.d4 Bb4+
Black is ready to castle and has the better game.
After 5.d4 Bb4+ 6.Nc3 (I'm not sure about this) ...0-0 7.Bd3 Re8+ Be3 Nf4 Black has = at least.

Be very careful with games on chesslab.com.
They could be played by anyone and who knows maybe the players are worse then you?
Most databases have a minimum rating.
Only master and above game, Only expert and above games etc..
Originally posted by jcoblitas68I only know of chesslab.com which does that.
yeah, you are right, but most databases include games of any quality ...
Shredder db - no
chessbase db - no
chessgames.com db - no
Fritz db - no
Those are the 5 I know about and I use those last 4. Chesslab.com I don't use because I don't want to follow a game which was played by someone lower rated then me, and they don't have the players ratings all the time and you can never be sure how strong those players were.
Originally posted by MctaytoI'm think something very similar. If that is the case then why am I wasting my time guessing moves? That's like taking advice from a lower rated player really. Like following a db game played by someone lower rated then you.
Apparently one is 1158 and the other 1219 🙁
Well I'll see what you guys guess and how the game goes, but i'm not guessing anymore.
The moves are bad and I don't agree with them.
