I'd like to see this thread alive, so I'll add another game: Game 501351 It was fast game (1 day T/O) and far from perfect, but interesting.
Hope to see more contribution in the topic - there are surely a lot of nice games played here.
Game 570829
Originally posted by lucifershammerActually I have more experience on the black side of the Saemisch (I mostly start with 1.e4, but getting tired of facing Sicilian at timesπ). And I am not sure if Saemisch is the best way to counter KID - I think that timely c5 gives black good game. But it is lively line, no doubts - I already saw your game sometime ago, it definitely belongs here. Just to not let this thread sink - I'm out of good games:-)
Ah ... the Samisch. One of my favourites as well:
Game 570829
Game 540400
Don't know if this qualifies as Wild 'n Woolly, but I had my heart in my mouth for most of the game. Classic French catenaccio (Yes, yes - I know; it's Italian football) - White throws everything but the kitchen sink at Black.
Game 591485
This one isn't a good game like most of the ones in this thread, but I think it's pretty wooly. I blundered and next move threw away a knight because I was mad at myself, ended up winning so I'll call it a "strategic sacrifice" Ya that's it, it was a sac ...π
Just finished one for my "Never get too excited" collection":
Game 561162
Proudly went for black king on move 30, just forgot to take his knight firstπ
KIIIINNNGGGG HUNTTT! π
Game 626405
Note the totally gratutious queen sac at the end. Because, really, why sac a pawn and mate with a queen when you can sac a queen and mate with a pawn?
This is the game where I calculated, on move 14, an insane number of sneaky and subtle mating lines full of quiet moves and brilliant defenses that didn't work, over hours and hours of analysis, before stumbling on the blindingly obvious and completely forced mate with all checks that I ended up using. (See the "you know you're insane when" thread)
Game 610537
Just finished this one-- a Wilkes-Barre game, and probably the most action-packed win I've gotten on this site. (I probably have had some equally action-packed losses that have been consigned to oblivion.)
It seemed like there was a tactic on almost every move here. I blundered badly on move 24 but managed to recover.
