I will have to sort of side with the JWs here. The Bible says that God can and will destroy souls in hell [Matt 10:28], meaning that the soul cannot be immortal as they can die. However it is also true that the body and soul are separate and distinct. Christ said man can kill the body but only God can kill the soul. Clearly the soul lives after the body dies and it returns to God.
there is some confusion over the meaning of the term, as it is translated from the Hebrew and Greek, a soul is merely a living breathing entity, that is why animals are described in the Bible as souls. Even some inferior translations acknowledge this but they are by no means consistent, for example, take a look at Ezekiel 18:20

The person who sins is the one who will die. - New living translation

Here it acknowledges that the term translated as 'soul' is a being, a person

The soul that sinneth, it shall die - King James version

here the translators simply rendered the term as soul, although it is clear that it corresponds to a person,

so these two facets, inconsistency in translation and a poor understanding of the Hebrew and Greek terms 'nephesh' and 'psyche' respectively translated as soul have led to a lot of confusion.

Jesus believed the soul of a person lived on after the body died. The apostle Paul also taught the same thing. What would be the purpose of a paradise or a hell of torment and a final judgment if the soul and body died together.

The apostle Paul wrote in a letter:

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(1 Thessalonians 5:23 NKJV)

Jesus said:

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

(Matthew 10:28 KJV)

The teachings of Jesus Christ removed the confusion over lots of doctrines .. if only you would accept what He says rather than use the rest of the writings of the Bible to contradict Him.

proves nothing says nothing, if we don't die then there is no need of a resurrection logically, is there. In fact, was it not a serpent in the garden of eden who stated, 'you positively will not die', so either i believe God, in that Adam and Eve DID die or I believe you and the serpent that they DID NOT die, which is it Hinds.

Good for you. But lots of churches go to people of all the nations and preach the good new of Gods Kingdom. Its just that the JWs claim that it is necessary to go from house to house.

In any case serious Christians dont just take one molehill line from Christ's teachings and make a mountain of self-praise out of it.

Do you have a verse where Jesus commanded going house to house or door to door. Just curious.. cannot remember seeing it.

Didn't you read what Jesus said? We do die in the body, however the soul can only be destroyed in hell. The resurrection refers to the restructuring of the body to be reunited with the soul and spirit of life.

Christ when from village to village, town to town, the apostles went from house to house,

Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

Acts 5:42 NIV version

hard to argue with empirical evidence, isn't it.

The question was for a verse where Jesus commands people to go house to house.

What empirical evidence? You provided nothing of value.

Is there is command from Christ to go from house to house?
If not just say that.

sigh, why do you try me again and again, do you not know that I am awesome?

Luke chapter 10

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.

“When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.

wow the apostles went from house to house teaching that Christ was the messiah and its not good enough for you, do you only accept the words of Jesus and nothing else? fine, but your inconsistency is duly noted, amazing that you should become squeamish about it when it doesn't suit your purposes,
