@secondson saidHow do you decide what in the bible is literal and what is metaphorical? You have a record of embarrassing yourself over this topic so your answer will be interesting.
Yes I can, but there's not enough space in this forum.
Let's keep it simple. Consider the creation account. No doubt divegeester believes it's all metaphorical when in fact it's literal.
You have a record of embarrassing yourself over this topic so your answer will be interesting.
You have a record of unilaterally announcing with great aplomb who has embarrassed themselves. As if you're vested with grand authority to declare people embarrassed.
How about some of us are embarrassed for YOU in this self importance of assuming you're speaking for everyone?
@sonship saidHow are those aliens on other planets doing?

@kellyjay saidOkay. No sense belaboring the point:
Who are you referring to, the Jesus who is the Son of God? The Jesus that was sent from God? Quoting scripture has been, is, and will be done by Satan too. Put things in context whose words are you quoting, explain who Jesus is! You are the one not just me the vast majority of posters here cannot hear, because you don't say anything that matters. Exactly how many verses of scripture do you quote 5 to 8, you realize there are many more!?
You don't believe that the words Jesus spoke when preaching His gospel while He walked the Earth have "meaning AND power" in and of themselves.
You don't believe that Jesus explained why his words are "worthy to be listened to".
John 12
46 “I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness.
50 “I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.”
48 “He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.
@secondson saidTelling that you fall back on the words of Paul.
Matthew 21:42
Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
Jesus is the stone, the head of the corner, the foundation of Israel and the church.
Ephesians 2:19-22
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and ...[text shortened]... ch fathers since the first century.
At best you're probably just a nut job looking for attention.
It's just as I said:
My foundation rests upon the gospel preached by Jesus while He walked the Earth.
Your foundation rests upon a gospel preached by others.
Like the chief priests and the Pharisees in Matthew 21 you reject the words Jesus spoke when preaching His gospel while He walked the Earth.

@thinkofone saidJesus I have no issue with, its you I do.

Who was Jesus' Father that told Him what to say?
@kellyjay saidWhen I asserted that the words Jesus spoke when preaching His gospel while He walked the Earth have "meaning AND power" in and of themselves, you rejected it.
Jesus I have no issue with, its you I do.
Who was Jesus' Father that told Him what to say?
When I asserted that Jesus explained why his words are "worthy to be listened to", you rejected it.
You've also rejected all passages I cited wherein Jesus explained the importance of His words.
In short, you reject the gospel preached by Jesus while He walked the Earth.
No sense pretending otherwise.

@thinkofone saidLooking at the scripture you chose to quote:
Who exactly do you think "the Father" [mentioned in your quote] is?
What do you understand by "eternal life"?
Who do you think the "one who judges" is?

lol.
I am asking about your beliefs as they pertain to those words which you chose to quote.
Who do you believe "the Father" is?
What do you understand by "eternal life"?
