If god exists like in the bible, nobody is separate from this god.
If god does not exist, we are on our own and everthing in the bible is just made up by men wanting to control other men and subjugate women.
Like the stance on gays, conservative christians think they will go to hell, and the Salvation Army wants to kill them. This is not something a god would say to people, since it is getting more and more proven they are in fact born that way.
A god would not have such people born into a circumstance they have no control over and then tell them they are going to burn in hell.
For instance, the flood fairy tale. Why would a god kill off 99% of all life on earth just to control recalcitrant humans? Animals around the globe should die because of the failures of a few humans?
Why can't people see that story for what it is, an apocryphal tale and not meant to be literal?
There was no world wide flood, only world wide ice 700,000,000 years ago (snowball earth they called it).
