Sorry for the cut and paste, but I hope this helps:
A controversial question is whether it is God's plan for animals to be in heaven or not. Many Christians believe that heaven just would not be heaven without animals. Certainly I believe that the Creator of millions of different species of animals, birds, insects and fish is a God who loves variety an ...[text shortened]... dhearted vivisectionists and ivory poachers.

so there are no 'sinful' animals, then?

When it comes to comparing humans to animals, I do think there are intrinsic differences. Which would you rather save from your burning house? The family dog, or your 2 year old baby?
his/her puppies or you?

Here is the only solution:
*There is only one God and he was never created because he is eternal.*
The profundity of the Doctor's revelations can be very hard to grasp, so let me help you along a bit by offering just one of many possible alternative solutions.
"A greater God created your god and this greater God was never created because he is eternal."
Homework: Try to find another argument similar to the one above but in which this "greater God" is also created. Then find a cause for this cause. And then another for this new cause. Continue ad infinitum.

my ironic and pithy remark has indeed been flogged to death by the doctor.

Which ever way you look at it you require an element of faith. Faith in my God is supported by divine revelation in the Bible.

i'd be very angry if i got to heaven and found one of those waiting for me!
Yes.

What makes you think such an animal would still be vicious in heaven?

What a remarkable thought! Yes, I think that basically takes care of things.
I suggest we put the old cosmological argument to rest.
Everything that exists has a cause.
The universe exists.
The universe has a cause.
That cause is God.
God exists.
God has a cause.
That cause is a higher God.
Brilliant.
Since, by definition, the first Cause is uncaused, it makes no sense to ask, "Who caused the First Cause?" That's really the same as asking "Which natural number is smaller than 1?" or "How many sides does a circle have?"
