@Ghost-of-a-Duke
Watch out. Another monologue coming.
sonship:
Yes, the Apostle Paul was speaking to the elders of the church in Ephesus.
Ghost:
Do you not think his words were 'also' speaking to you, as a Christian?!
Sure, there is much in the verse that I as a Christian could benefit from by way of application.
You too -- it says the church of God which He obtained with His own blood.
Meaning that God incarnated in the Person of Jesus Christ. God clothed Himself in flesh and blood. He became a man.
He laid down His life to accomplish redemption, purchasing the believers out from under the curse of the Law of God.
With an open heart, God's word may always speak something to us.
Remark again so the "monologue" may show something even more.
Ah, the church of God which He [God] obtained with His OWN BLOOD! Amen.
Ghost's quote.
'Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God.' Acts 20:28.
The ENTIRE verse quoted faithfully -
"Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among whom the Holy Spirit has placed you as overseers to shepherd the church of God,
which He obtained through His own blood." (Acts 20:28 RcV)
Ghost you should be more careful to reference the verse.
Or - What English version of Acts was that ? ?
@sonship saidYou posted that 4 minutes after your previous post. Am I expected to hang over the keyboard awaiting your posts, even when you apparently miss months of unpleasant posts by another poster?!
Ghost ?

Please reply. Otherwise FMF will complain that I am doing a monologue.
'which He obtained through His own blood,' was not relevant to the point I was making nor did it detract from it. (unlike yourself I try to avoid unnecessary waffle).
@Ghost-of-a-Duke
This is how I would do that then.
'Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God ... ' Acts 20:28.
What English version was that anyway ?
8 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God,[a] which he bought with his own blood.
Its the New International Version, the NIV
Where there was a comma you could write the comma and then "...".
8 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, ...
@sonship saidYou tell me. It's your Bible.

You tell me. It's your Bible.
It's YOUR handy NIV that you get your jollies from throwing at Christians, thinking you're so cute to do so.
One day it may dawn upon you that you'll be held even MORE responsible, because you knew what it said so much.
Keep it up. You're not going to have the last chuckle. So enjoy now your little seasson of "fun".
I do hope God shows you mercy and you wake up though.
I hope He has the SAME mercy on you that He had on me.
Not one bit less.

@sonship saidYou’ll be fine; just let your “yes” be “yes” and your “no” be “no”
@FMF
Because it's a debate and discussion message board.
Exactly. A Debate and Discussion board .... in which Atheists do not ALWAYS win the debate or ALWAYS channel the discussion the way THEY want it to go.
But .... a debate and discussion board.
