@fmf saidSo you only believe some of what Jesus said and taught. The rest is a lie to you liar boy?
I don't have any credible reason to believe that there is any such thing as everlasting life. I am an atheist. However, I do believe that much of what Jesus is said to have taught while he was alive makes for a morally sound way to lead one's life.
@kingdavid403 saidI am not asking you to add or take away from something you posted earlier in this thread. I am asking if you want to modify the "slogan" in the OP, as the OP asked you to do.
My statement speaks for itself liar troll boy. No need for your adding or taking away from it.
@kingdavid403 saidI am not a Christian. I don't think Jesus was a divine being or God or supernatural in any way. So, while I think that much of what Jesus is said to have taught is very morally sound and a good template for a life well-lived, I don't subscribe to what Christians claim about the significance of his Jesus' life on the supernatural level.
So you only believe some of what Jesus said and taught. The rest is a lie to you liar boy?
@kingdavid403 saidIt's an answer to the personal questions you asked me.
Sounds like a personal matter to me liar troll boy.
@fmf saidI think I stated my thoughts on the OP. If not, I'm stating here that I think it is a good saying.

@kingdavid403 saidFMF: If I do good works. If I strive to avoid immorality and lead as righteous a life as I can, do you believe I will be "saved" and have everlasting life?
KingDavid403: If you do this, it is clear that you have true faith. So yes.
Even though I myself do not believe in everlasting life?

@kingdavid403 saidHave you been what you believe is "Christ-like" here over the last few hours?

Ever see the things Jesus said to the pharisees and Religious leaders of that day?
I was light on you compared to the way Jesus treated those liars.

You seem to be trying to turn this forum into the kind of place that Philokalia apparently wants it to be.
@fmf saidYou are lying and twisting the words of my stance on this issue. Nothing about different beliefs; just your lies. You have been lying about everything.
But I am not a "liar". We simply have different beliefs. And I simply have a different perspective on what you have been saying here than you do. I have not been "lying" about anything.
Now, you just said you had belief in the teachings and commandments of Jesus to live a good life; even as an Atheist. So how is it that you do not believe in Christ, when you state that you believe in His teachings to live a good life?
Do you have good works without faith, which is dead works and dead faith.
Or, do you have faith in Jesus teachings to live a good life, but think He lied about salvation in Him and that He is God in the flesh?
Why do you believe some of His teachings and not others? Was He half liar?

@fmf saidHow about this:
Those here who talk about their belief that God created them often seem to be saying more or less this:
"God created you in order that you believe in him and worship him and if you do, you will have everlasting life".
At the bare bones level, is there more to God's perceived purpose than that?
"God created you in order that you believe in him and worship him and to obey him and do good works ~ unless you are on your deathbed and so can only do the first two things in the time left ~ and if you do, you will have everlasting life".
Too much text for a t-shirt, but ~ and this question is for Christians ~ is it CORRECT?
