@kingdavid403 saidNo, I have not been lying. People can read the exchanges for themselves and decide.
You are lying and twisting the words of my stance on this issue. Nothing about different beliefs; just your lies. You have been lying about everything.
I think I have been applying more thought and scrutiny to your stated beliefs that you have ever done.
I get why you disagree; I get why you feel ruffled and so we get all the "troll liar boy" banter; but I am not lying.
I am being completely truthful ~ and candid ~ throughout my conversation with you.
@fmf saidGood. 🙂
@kingdavid403 said, page after page...
[b]Yes, you troll often; I already know that.
Please show us all where I extracted this from the Gospels of Jesus liar boy?
Where do I seem to be stretching hard for a populist, liar troll boy?
Please show us ALL where I said, or did this, liar troll boy? LOL...
As I already said; you already lost liar boy. lol...
No, that's you ...[text shortened]... em to be trying to turn this forum into the kind of place that Philokalia apparently wants it to be.
And actually, it is you who is turning this forum into something it was not intended to be; with all your lies and twisting the words of other people s statements.
Nice try tho liar troll boy. LOL...
@fmf saidThe only thing you are applying is your lies and nothing else, liar troll boy. End of your worthless liars story troll boy.

@kingdavid403 saidNow, you just said you had belief in the teachings and commandments of Jesus to live a good life; even as an Atheist. So how is it that you do not believe in Christ, when you state that you believe in His teachings to live a good life?

Do you have good works without faith, which is dead works and dead faith.
Or, do you have faith in Jesus teachings to live a good li ...[text shortened]... He is God in the flesh?
Why do you believe some of His teachings and not others? Was He half liar?
As I said, I am not a Christian. I don't think Jesus was a divine being or God or supernatural in any way. So, while I think that much of what Jesus is said to have taught is very morally sound and a good template for a life well-lived, I don't subscribe to what Christians claim about the significance of his Jesus' life on the supernatural level.

I do not have faith. But I believe I have done and continue to do good works to the best of my ability.
Or, do you have faith in Jesus teachings to live a good life, but think He lied about salvation in Him and that He is God in the flesh?
I don't believe in "salvation". However, I am impressed by things like the Sermon on the Mount.
Why do you believe some of His teachings and not others?
I think that much of what Jesus is said to have taught is very morally sound and a good template for a life well-lived. I make this choice using my moral compass.
@kingdavid403 saidI think you are wrong. People will make up their own minds.
The only thing you are applying is your lies and nothing else, liar troll boy.

So you believe either Jesus or the Bible were lying, unless what was written was about doing good works, so you could judge those in Christ? smh
I do not have faith. But I believe I have done and continue to do good works to the best of my ability.
You just said that you had faith in the teachings of Christ; your cherry picked teachings anyway.
I don't believe in "salvation". However, I am impressed by things like the Sermon on the Mount.
So Jesus was lying half the time? Either that, or the Bible is lying half the time. Which is it? I think most like Jesus's Sermon on the Mount.
I think that much of what Jesus is said to have taught is very morally sound and a good template for a life well-lived. I make this choice using my moral compass.
Which parts fit in with your "much"? Your cherry picked parts?

@kingdavid403 saidNo, I would not characterize it as "lying" or "fiction". See my contributions to the thread "Fiction".

@fmf saidWell, I do characterize it as lying. As it is.
No, I would not characterize it as "lying" or "fiction". See my contributions to the thread "Fiction".

@kingdavid403 saidNo. Not "faith" in the teachings of Christ, not in the way the word "faith" has been used [as a synonym for belief/trust] on this thread. I merely think that much of what Jesus is said to have taught is morally sound and a good template for living.

Yes, I have cherry-picked the bits that are credible and coherent to me. I am an agnostic atheist; so there's nothing wrong with me cherry-picking. It's a process that the moral compass of a free moral agent engages in.

@fmf saidHow convenient for you.

@kingdavid403 saidYou seem to think that an atheist cherry-picking non-supernatural parts of the teachings attributed to Christ is wrong to do. I don't think it is. Religious values and norms are things we absorb and internalize from our human environment ["nurture"].

I was a Christian for decades and absorbed many Christian norms and values, many of which still form part of the superstructure of my moral compass. Cherry-picking is not a problem for an agnostic atheist like me.

A believe what I wanter.
@kingdavid403 saidWell, it's a matter of credibility rather than convenience. Would it be better, in your view, if I rejected ALL Christian values instead of cherry-picking only the bits that I believe are a good code for living my life?
How convenient for you.
