We are talking about the deification of Christ.
It is not an easy matter because Christ was God from eternity.
The Word was with God and the Word was God.
Then the Word became flesh.
Surely, this was God in a man with us as Emmanuel.
So what NEED is there for God in a man to be deified?
I still say it is a good question.
The deification of the Son of Man is the same as the deification of the sons
whom are begotten of God through His resurrection.
It is not easy for me to fully underwstand or describe.
Could I be wrong?
I could make mistakes and not teach something well.
And I could be wrong.
But we have these matters in the New Testament to read and believe.
I reserve the right not to throw them away as if they are not written just because
they are challenging to understand.
God became a man so that man might become God in life and nature and expression but not in the Godhead. Christ took back to the throne of God the human nature He had clothed Himself in.
The day of His resurrection was the day in God's eyes all the brothers were born and the day He as the First Elder Brother was born.
The created item - MAN - He took back from 33.5 years of living on the earth to the throne of eternity as FIRSTBORN among MANY BROTHERS.

The deification of ...[text shortened]... k from 33.5 years of living on the earth to the throne of eternity as FIRSTBORN among MANY BROTHERS.
Something that is already deified can not then 'become' deified, despite you wanting it really badly.
You still flogging this dead horse?
You can taunt believers on into eternity if you wish.
Changes what ??
Something that is already deified can not then 'become' deified, despite you wanting it really badly.
To be made a brother of the Firstborn Son of God did not originate with me.
It was not initiated by my desire, my striving, my power grab.
Before the creation of the universe God predestinated some human beings to sonship through Jesus Christ. It is more than I could imagine to ask or even think.
Back to the drawing board with you silly skeptic.
Did this prayer initiated with ME ??
"Father, concerning that which You have given Me, I desire that they also may be with Me where I am. that they may behold My glory, which You hasve given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world." (John 17:24)
I'm sorry if you have no one petitioning on your behalf that your atheism be vindicated.
Something that is already deified can not then 'become' deified, despite you wanting it really badly.
Bringing the Christianity defending atheist back to the Bible -
The authority to become children of God was granted by the begetting Father.
" But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become children of God, to those who believe into His name, who were begotten not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:12,13)
The authority was granted not TO themselves BY themselves.
It was given to them by God who gave divine life to them.
" to them He gave the authority to become children of God, to those who believe into His name"
How can a supposed defender of Christianity be so ignorant is beyond me.
Come on Ghost, Whip now another inane one liner.
Yes, inane,
inane
ĭn-ān′
adjective
Lacking sense or substance.
Without contents; empty; void of sense or intelligence; purposeless; pointless; characterless; useless.
Lackingsense or meaning (often implying, "to the point of boredom or annoyance" ).
Reach down into your bag of inane one liners and keep your feeble end of the talk going.
Christ was deified when the Roman Catholic Church came into being based upon Babylonian mythos (Hislop). The idea of a Father/Son/Mother trinity had already been established in other cultures centuries beforehand.
We now have four groups
1) those that believe this and can’t break out of their Babylonian conditioning
2) those that have researched and understand the the bible does not support a trinity
3) those (like Duke) who are disinterested but well read and can debate from a neutral standpoint.
4) those that just don’t care and have given up on religion (and who can blame them when you look at the number of conflicts that have centred around religion ?)

Believing something already deified can become deified.
