RajK and All More,

King James Version
======================

I John 5: 11-13
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

RajK and All More,

King James Version
==========================
I John 5: 1
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

John 3: 14-18
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Swiss Gambit, ThinkOfOne, RajK, and All More,

As for Torture of Sending someone to eternal suffering. . .

God even was pleased when Jesus was "bruised" no matter how pleased He was with His Son Jesus before. . .

King James Version
================
Mark 1: 9-11
And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Isaiah 53: 10-12
Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

So what? Jesus suffered and died for a grand total of 3 days. That's nothing in the lifespan of a deity. He even knew he'd be resurrected.

Heck, there are humans currently living that have suffered worse than that.

Jesus' level of suffering pales in comparison to the eternal suffering visited on hell's occupants.

Don't forget that Jesus also suffered as a man. Suffering by God is always enternal suffering, because God is the eternal being. We can only imagine how much suffering there is. We don't really know for sure. It seems that theists always seem to think they know better than all others, don't they?

"God exist whether or not men may choose to believe in Him. The reason why many people do not believe in God is not so much that it is intellectually impossible to believe in God, but because belief in God forces that thoughtful person to face the fact that he is accountable to such a God." -Robert A. Swiss Gambit,
The point is that if God was pleased that Jesus was bruised for our sins and not his own, then why might you think that God will not eternally punish sinners who reject Christ as Savior?

Why do you think that God will not be cruel to sinners who don't want Him? The only reason why God received Christ back to life is because Christ had no sin of His own. Because Christ lives believers can live eternally also.

It is cruel, but that doesn't mean it won't exist just because it is cruel.

Somewhere the bible tells that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. How can we understand why God does all that He does and all that He will do? As cruel as it is, we don't have a "say-so" against God.

Whatever we do, joking about the bible will not change God into "our wishes" for ourselves or other people. Please don't joke or make light of what the bible tells for your own sakes. Even if you don't believe, joking may be mockery to God.

You should stop trying to tell people about what the Bible says. You lack the knowledge and the skills to explain in Biblical doctrine.

Good. Now that we know God's true character, we can dispense with the notion that he is morally 'good'. Sounds like we're ruled by 2 devils and 0 gods, actually.

SwissGambit,
We don't understand who God is unless He tells us who He is. We don't know what He thinks unless He tells us. We don't know what He will do unless He tells us. God is not a "one sided" being.

If we don't know God, then how can we judge Him? He knows all about us. Relatingly speaking, at least, He even keeps track of how many hairs is on a believer's head. Jesus said:

King James Version
=================
Matthew 10: 28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

And Jesus also said, following that by:

Matthew 10: 29-31
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

RajK,
Please read below what Jesus told His disciples.

King James Version
================
Matthew 10: 11-15
And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

And when ye come into an house, salute it.

And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
