On THIS website, you, FMF, have 454 pages of public forum posts, which, at 15 posts per page, comes out to a little over 6800 posts.
If you have 40,000+ posts on THIS website, then you have made 33,200+ posts in private forums, which are not subject to moderation, or you have more than one account, which is clearly against the ToS. Do you care to clarify which of these it is??
Also, at 3,000 days of posting, these 40,000 posts would have you posting 13+ posts per day, every day, for 8.2 years. Do you still claim to have posted 40,000+ posts here?
And as far as lasting 8.2 years here with no bans, I've been here since 2003, that's 12 years with no bans. So it's not so hard to pass time here with absolutely 0 bans.

So FMF sounds like an avid looter in a situation where law-and-order has broken down, who
likes to boast that he never has stolen anything because no authority has yet arrested him.
FMF's about as qualified (the opposite is true) to become an 'impartial' moderator in the forums
as RJHinds would be to decide which players should be banned for cheating by using chess engines.

Despite what the detractors may think, I would support FMF being appointed as a moderator on this basis:
Calmness under pressure
Clear thinker
Balanced and tempered in posting style
Would address the post in question, not the poster
Is an advocate of free speech rather than restricting people from speaking
Is concise and forthright in communication
Unequivocal and decisive
Is happy to have "FMF" step away from the forums to reduce appearance of conflict of interest
Honest
i'm sure many will disagree, but if they are honest, maybe not for these reasons I've stated here.
