I don't know if all the mountains have ocean fossils on them but Mt. Everest for instance does. However, scientists have dated those fossils as 2-3 million years old. So either Noah's Ark was 2 million years ago or Mt. Everest has grown substantially since then or once again you'll claim Satan is trying to deceive us.

Once upon a time I believed in God.

The posts in this thread by Robbie, Galveston, and Josephw have made absolutely certain that will never happen again.

Nice job.

Much work has been done on mapping the history of the human race through DNA, as far as i understand there is zero evid ...[text shortened]... nd if you have any evidence to show me that i am wrong i would be most interested to read it.
It appears at least from initial search that we are classified into 3 distinct groups. I could post links but it kinda gives evidence for those who argue for Noah & his 3 sons being the progenitors of our current races. Also genetic variation is amazing. Look at Dogs for example. From the wolf to the Chihuahua or Great Dane different sizes and colors yet all still a dog.

Being descended from 3 sons, whether Noahs or not, would not result in three distinct groups.

Went over 400. So my question as someone else put it even if the ark were found for most it would just be proof the someone built a big @$$ boat not necessarily that the story is true. If something were super natural however by definition would it not defy science or nature? Like turning water into wine or feeding 5000 with a small amount of bread & fish. Does not make sense at all.

Agreed I guess but a quick search on-line reveals that the majority of people(whoever they are) classify humans into 3 distinct groups. I guess there are sub groups but three main groups.

my faith was not influenced by them.

just because america's democracy has some really bad ideas doesn't mean you should dismiss democracy as a whole. (kind of forced analogy but you get the picture)

most of my faith comes from within. from a feeling i have that tells me i should be happy, there is a god and he cares for us. the town jester screaming in the square will not change that.

how does a boat render one a believer? even if it were found?

so you have an account of jesus' life, the great stuff he suggested and you don't believe in god but a boat should blow away all your doubts?

you are kind of missing what is important here.

It would also mean they would have to show humility which is so hard for some....
didn't god "harden" pharaoh's heart? doesn't the bible say that after each plague he wanted to let them go but god "hardened his heart?" correct me if i am wrong but if this is true (which i don't believe) then god is responsible.

and haven't you been here when twhite told you the himalayas were on the edge of a tectonic plate. when india plate smashed into that plate the himalayas(once under water) came to be mountains. "The evidence is there but it seems no one wants to see it. Maybe you can't!" (actually, no maybe, i know you can't)

here is your problem: there is indeed evidence. the problem is it isn't evidence for the flood. you take one real effect but you assign it to the wrong cause. with no logic attached to the process. what is more logical? that tectonic movement across millions of years resulted in indian plate colliding with eurasia plate and through a lengthy process the 8000+m mountains came to be?

or that there was a flood, himalayas were under water and then in less than 4000 years they came to be this height? i wonder when did the chinese first recorded there were some really high mountains in their area? what height do you think they were when the flood occured?

Can you give a reference to support that? If the majority of people do that, then why have I never heard it before? Where is this silent majority hiding?

Manny
again you have an effect. and you assign it to a cause of your choosing. there being 3 groups doesn't mean each of them descended from only one person. do you have any idea that each of those sons's sons and daughters would be doing incest like back with adam and eve? does that work?

wait, we have god messing with the DNA. it's definetely logical then.
