You don't think a set of books based on the premise 'we - and only we - are God's chosen people' is not self-serving and self-aggrandizing propaganda?

The full point would be that the Hebrews are unique because they record a history stained in tragedy, defeat, and placing the blame on themselves from the start.

This was never done until modern times.
Actually the Vikings did this quite a lot.

Alex Jones? The conspiracy theorist cum Trump apologist Alex Jones who believes President Obama forged his birth certificate?

And all mass shootings are false flag operations faked by paedophile "SJW" Democrats.

Where?

Are there runestones to their defeats sitting out there somewhere?

God made them the chosen people so that he could show how great he was by making these miserable second class serf/slaves of Egypt into an amazing people... And then he proceeds to put them through the grinder several times.

Read the Bible -- for every glorious event there is a whole period of massive decadence and decline, and military defeat.

And you say you know that the Hebrews were "God's chosen people" because the Hebrews wrote books in which they said that the Hebrews were "God's chosen people".

Norse culture was primarily an oral one. Is that any less valid?

No, I am saying they are God's chosen people because I believe in the claims of Jesus Christ and the many Saints and Prophets. Of course, the written record of this is also very valid.

I believe in the miracles performed by Saints, and the narrative of Christianity.

Part of that is the aspect of the Hebrews as God's chosen people.

I can elaborat emore on that if you give me some kind of direction to go in.

I mean more like... where does this record survive?

I have an interest in Norse culture. My mother is a Norwegian and while my father is a mixed American, he is also primarily Norwegian and Finnish, so if you could recommend some things, I would actually really enjoy reading some about this.

I notice you ignore my questions. So here is another :

Where in the Bible do you find this particular reason for God choosing Israel as his chosen people?

Christians, I have noticed generally dont know the Bible and what it contains. Rather they regurgitate what their favorite pastor tells them.

No, it's alright. I have been around Christians all my life and I still am. Your religious beliefs are also an off-the-shelf package of "answers" that I have been engaging here for a decade or so. I am more interested in what I see as the pretentious misanthropy that seems to stem from your superstitions.

As a matter of interest ~ and it's a perennial topic here ~ what do you believe happens to people [more specifically, those who don't believe the stuff you do] when they die?

If you do not know the law, you don't know what is sin and what is not sin. Notice that Paul is saying this even under the new covenant.
So your kid made a mistake. You okay with the judgement?

I haven't thought of myself as misanthropic but actually... I do have a steady stream of pessimism that flows from me at times, lol.
