@kellyjay saidI referenced sonship's claims the Bible supports the notion of man becoming God.
I read it twice now, and I think even if you are talking about the scripture or someone's interpretation of it, saying they are wrong about a correct fact puts you in a place of being wrong about that point.
Not Jesus becoming God, man becoming God.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidWhy not start a thread on that and back up what you’re claiming?
Indeed. The Bible is riddled with contradictions and errors.
I’m sure there are plenty of atheist websites that list them - and plenty of Christian apologetics websites and Biblical inerrancy websites that refute those alleged contradictions and errors.

@kevin-eleven saidWe’re not in the 1800s (if what you claim is true.) As far as I know, most historians believe Jesus Christ was a real person who walked the earth and was crucified.
By the 1880s, even believing theologians began to doubt that there ever was a historical Jesus.

Scroll through previous threads if you want to find the last one. It's the thread where sonship boldly told me to give him my best 3 contradictions, and then promptly fell to pieces on the first one and said he would pray on it.
I guess he's still praying.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidOkay, that wasn't clear when I read it, but I'm sure that I may have picked that up had I read earlier comments, sorry ghost.

@pb1022 saidHow sure are you of that?

@kellyjay saidSo you agree sonship's claim that man is deified is not a 'correct fact' (as you described it).

@ghost-of-a-duke saidPretty sure. I haven’t checked recently but if what I said is false, feel free to post evidence saying that.
How sure are you of that?
@ghost-of-a-duke saidI don't know his claim, and I'd hate to talk about something I have not paid attention to and pass judgment. I have made mistakes in the past not understanding the full picture. 🙂
So you agree sonship's claim that man is deified is not a 'correct fact' (as you described it).
@kellyjay saidHe says it repeatedly Kelly across numerous threads. Even the title of this very thread has him challenging Christians to disagree with his belief in the deification of man.
I don't know his claim, and I'd hate to talk about something I have not paid attention to and pass judgment.
Look up, read the title. Or pretend you haven't seen it. Sonship is inviting you to deny his deification claims. Why haven't you?!
@kevin-eleven saidThe other side of this from my view is that even if Jesus never existed, Christianity has been an early, strong, and influential meme phenomenon, specifically considerate of human hurts, horrors, regrets, torments, desires, and hopes, and that it is worth maintaining and improving for its benefits, while winnowing out those elements that underlie its detriments.
By the 1880s, even believing theologians began to doubt that there ever was a historical Jesus.
