Also the scripture that you quoted in the book of John, quite ironically, proves that God did not cause the mans blindness, for it was the the mistaken view of the disciples that it was caused because the man or his parents were being punished by God for some misdemeanour on their part, clearly Christ stated that it was not the case. His blindness was the result of inherited imperfection, not because God is a source of evil or because he was being punished. Its a weak and wimpy Christian that states that it is.
Bad things and evil things happen because God allows them to happen. When Satan did what he did to Job, he first got Gods approval. Satan can do nothing without Gods approval.

You wont get brownie points by defending God.

Many besides Christians who are afraid to face the truth about themselves and their religion?
edit: and your feeble attempt at rebutting my response aside, my point still stands, most people do not have a low opinion of Christians, most atheist do, though one could argue whether they are actually people
What else is new? A Christian who has t ...[text shortened]... pinion. Do you think Jesus would have shared your opinion? What was it that Gandhi said again?

Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
So .. Christ said that the WORKS OF GOD MADE THE MAN BLIND.
Where the hell you get inherited imperfections from?
Originally posted by Rajk999ooooooor perhaps that the works of God being manifest in him would be the healing that Christ would then perform. depends on if you are a glass half full or half empty kind of guy.

Christ clearly demonstrated that was wrong thinking? Yes Christ had come to undo not Gods works , but the works of Satan, which just about sums up how far removed you are from Christ and reality.

(1 John 3:8) . . .For this purpose the Son of God was made manifest, namely, to break up the works of the Devil.
The miracle itself was simply a demonstration that Christ was being used by God to accomplish his purpose, for if you read the entire chapter, it becomes self evident that the blind man held Jesus as a prophet!

"if you can combine the number of atheists and the number of Muslims who have a low opinion of Christians, I'd say the number world wide is a small fraction (most Muslims do not hate us).
"Low opinion" and "hate" are not the same thing. Straw man.
"my point still stands, most people do not have a low opinion of Christians".
"so many" and "most" are not the same thing. Straw man again.
Above are two examples of your creating a straw man. Even at that I wouldn't crown you the "king of straw man arguments", no less the "undisputed king".
So if you're going to make the accusation, you're going to have to come up with at least three examples.
Are there any Christians on this forum that can speak intelligently or function above that of a thirteen year old?
Originally posted by ThinkOfOneI reject the premise of your argument. Why must I come up with 3 examples? Because you say so? If I come up with 100 will you shut up and go away?

As for coming up with 100, go for it.
