Maybe that's because your soul wages war against the Truth. Perhaps, that post hit home, that you do deep inside fear what you do not know. And, it is good to fear God, because the greatest men in biblical history feared Him and rightly so! The very Heavens flee from His face! John looked upon Him and was stunned! David mourned in sorrow at his sin! None can hold a candle to the awesome power who forged the universe! Moses saw the back of God and all His hair tourned White. God is real! Jesus is calling you to repent and be saved! He is coming quickly and his reward is with Him. Blessed is he who has not seen Him and believes on His name. Blessed is he who find himself at the marriage Supper of the Lamb. Blessed is he who is meek for the meek shall inherit the Earth.
Blessed is he who loves his brother who does not love Him, for he shall be shown love unimaginable.
Blessed is he who calls on the name of the Lord.
YAHWEH is gracious! YAHWEH is great! Glory is the name of the Lamb of God! Immanuel! For God is with us until time and times are done. Rolfey, know that Jesus love you. Know that God loves you and would want none to perish. Do not turn from the Jesus of Nazareth who died to wash your sins away on Calvary's cross! Do not turn away from the Lord our God whom the heavens flee from His face.

Easy there…we’re supposed to love God not fear him.

Psalm 34:4-6 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. 5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

The Lord is not to be feared.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

If we fear God, then we don’t love God. If we don’t love God then we don’t know God because God is love.

This is what it means to fear God.

Psalm 34:11-22 11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD. 12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. 14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. 15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

Be righteous and give yourself over to God.

16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. 17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. 20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. 21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. 22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

The scripture uses the term fear in a very loose way. To fear God means to trust him, love him, and be righteous. This is impossible if we fear God literally.

Edit: Remember it’s the relationship that’s important. Relationships that are based on fear are evil in nature. Love is a better motivator.

i suddenly feel a little more respect for you (which i appreciate you may not care about!). too many followers of faith disregard too many factual things just because they contradict with the bible (the age of the earth as you say for example). your post is good and i admit i am too lazy to find quotes to support my cause, however i feel nothing has changed. if you are happy, i am happy to leave it be for this thread.

it was fun. take care.
Ok, I’m not sure that there’s much more I can say anyway. Believe as you will and God bless. 🙂

We have no idea what it leaves. We just don't know.

Blind, but Jesus still loves you welsharnie, and He will continue to call your heart to Him. You just have to open your heart.

You're telling me that we don't know when 500 people saw Jesus leave the Mountain of Olives? You're telling me that Peter, Paul and hundreds, thousands, of people would risk their lives for a lie??? Come now, let's not get carried away. Jesus loves you dottewell. He will continue to call your heart, because He wishes none to perish.

How do you complete nonsense? It is the truth. You either believe in God or you believe that "something" came out of "nothing."

BUt, refer to the book of Jude. You take that out of context, Chess Express. It means not to fear anything in this world, but only God. It is true that people who are saved have less reason to fear God than those who do not. But, in our sin, we should fear God. Did I clarify that right? 🙂 That's why it says that.

I’ve read Judge and I don’t see what you’re getting at. Both David and John were pretty specific in the verses that I cited. I’m not sure how I could have taken them out of context. How does the book of Judge change things? Verses?

To "fear" God is not what we know as "afraid". The fear of God means awe, reverance. This is old King James english.

I didn't say Judges, I said JUDE! This one: Jude 1:23
"And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh."

Acts 13:26 (Whole Chapter)
"Brothers--you sons of Abraham, and also all of you devout Gentiles who fear the God of Israel--this salvation is for us!

1 Thessalonians 2:16 (Whole Chapter)
by trying to keep us from preaching the Good News to the Gentiles, for fear some might be saved. By doing this, they continue to pile up their sins. But the anger of God has caught up with them at last.

Genesis 22:12 (Whole Chapter)
"Lay down the knife," the angel said. "Do not hurt the boy in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld even your beloved son from me."

Genesis 42:18 (Whole Chapter)
On the third day Joseph said to them, "I am a God-fearing man. If you do as I say, you will live.

Exodus 1:17 (Whole Chapter)
But because the midwives feared God, they refused to obey the king and allowed the boys to live, too.

Exodus 1:21 (Whole Chapter)
And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.

Leviticus 19:32 (Whole Chapter)
"Show your fear of God by standing up in the presence of elderly people and showing respect for the aged. I am the LORD.

Revelation 15:4 (Whole Chapter)
Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous deeds have been revealed."

Acts 10:2 (Whole Chapter)
He was a devout man who feared the God of Israel, as did his entire household. He gave generously to charity and was a man who regularly prayed to God.

Luke 12:5 (Whole Chapter)
But I'll tell you whom to fear. Fear God, who has the power to kill people and then throw them into hell.

Luke 1:50 (Whole Chapter)
His mercy goes on from generation to generation, to all who fear him.

Proverbs 9:10 (Whole Chapter)
Fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in understanding.

There's many passages more than these, Chess Express!

For FEAR Chess Express! Witness with fear if you have to, because Hell is a lot worse!

I have noticed that when a Christian uses only science to show that God - within an astronomical certainty - exists and that the theory of "so ...[text shortened]... st, the Lamb of God. Gave you a rec for whatever that's worth. Very interesting facts. However I disagree on God sending a strong delusion. I don't think this has happened yet. A better reason for unbelievers not to believe is stated by Jesus....
John 3:18-19
18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
(NKJ)

If they were to believe they would have to be held accountable for their sins and they don't want that.

I'll also tell my future kids to worship the school bully too then. at least he can be proved real.
