Neither of us knows the age or the origin of the universe. Thank you for your conjecture about it. I find the "everlasting life" stuff you extrapolate from it far-fetched but if it makes you feel good, go for it. I hope you're wrong about the me-getting-hung-out-burning-on-chains bit.

Okay, weak joke. You WON that argument.

The point - Jesus lived on in His disciples AS .. He said He would -

"I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you." (John 14:18)

Jesus lived on as " a life giving Spirit " in the believers that could not be stamped out, terrified out, persecuted out, TORTURED out, worn out, snuffed out, argued out ... etc. [/b]

"What memo? What memo?" Alright, my lousy humor.

More to the point - Rome wore itself down trying to exterminate the Jesus LIVES "cult." They finally decided "If you can't bet them, join them." Enter Emperor Constantine.

God distributed the living Jesus Christ INTO those who believe into Him as life giving Spirit.

"the last Adam became a life giving Spirit." (1 Cor. 15:45)

Then God let the world torture test His new product for about two thousand years. we're still here, still believing Christ is resurrected and at the right hand of God coming again.

In the meantime He lives in us as divine life giving Holy Spirit.

I get imagination. I don't get why someone who has not been around for thousands of years now is supposed to be important.

Hinduism has lasted 4,000 years. Still going strong. Judaism has lasted almost as long. Buddhism has lasted 2,500 years. Still going strong. Islam has lasted 1,500 or so years. Growing apace. Christianity has been going for 2,000 years. Still going strong.

I don't deny for one minute that there is something we can call "church history" and I don't deny the impact it has had on Western history. I don't deny these things. I'm just not a Christian, that's all.

Point recognized some.

SO then ... because Hinduism is an old belief with its millions of gods, therefore you know that Christ did not rise from the dead ?

So then ... because Buddhism is an old belief therefore you know that Christ was not raised from the dead by God?

Other ancient beliefs prove that Jesus was not raised ?

The Point [in response to the stuff you typed]: How long Christianity has been going is neither here nor there.

No it is not neither here nor there.
It is a testament that people like you by every and all means have not been able to put it down and out.

"The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the saints."

People came to Christ by observing how the Christians died.

I don't claim it to be all the proof. I claim it to be evidence of durability under opposition.

Anyway, I learned a long time ago that people who say "They are all the same - Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, etc." are just saying "Nothing has an effect on me. In that way - they are all the same."

That could just be a self love which nothing else in existence effects. So everything is all the same to you.

I am not a religionist, if that's what you mean.
