Ok, were the nutters now! Grab a newspaper, i know not what you read, Times,
Guardian, Independent and it will verify our stance, crime, earthquakes, reports of
war, famine and disease.

In the centuries before the Times, Guardian, Independent existed you think there was no crime, earthquakes, war, famine and disease?

You urged us to read the Times, Guardian, and Independent. Do you think their content substantiates your theory?

There have been earthquakes on this planet since it developed a crust, i've produced evidence in the form of text from the USGS website in which they state that earthquake frequencies have remained constant throughout the period for which they have data. As for the others, humanity has had to deal with crime, war, famine and disease ever since we stopped being hunter gatherers and started living in fixed communities.

Steven Pinker's recent book makes a pretty convincing case that crime and violence are not as much of a scourge, relatively speaking, as they were centuries ago.

yes you have, its only one aspect of the composite sign though. What of it? I have not
said that there was never any crime, famine, wars, have I? The potential destructive
force of earthquakes is immense, it has never before been so great, are you willing to
dispute this claim, if so, on what basis? what about atrocity, have there always been atrocity? what about the scale of atrocity? what about war, have their always been
wars? when did we see an escalation in mankind's ability to wage war and destruction?

You reckon the "force" of earthquakes is greater now than it ever was before?

Is the death, murder, crime, famine, in your view, worse now than it was between - say - 1942 and 1945?

I recently read a book on the Black Death from the 14th century. People thought that episode was the end of days, how people can say things are worst now than during that period is beyond me.

You have given the link many times before, but you are pursuing a straw man, for we
are not talking about an increase in seismic activity, but that activities potential to cause
damage and loss of life.
