Originally posted by whodeyHappier? Good game for OSU! What a season of upsets. I never thought Cal would lose to Oregon and by a trouncing like that. I hope the season remains this interesting indeed. The Michigan game was interesting and lively. MIami was way overrated! I could not belive they climbed so high after starting the season unranked. Pollsters like some teams better than others.
Did you read what I wrote? Illinios has beaten OSU in their own house 7 of the last 10!! 😲 No one else does that.....except maybe USC.
Houston beats another Big 12 team scoring in the last minute to edge Texas Tech. In two weeks, they travel to Mississippi State, which almost upset LSU today (end of game goal line by LSU). If Houston takes that, they have a good chance of running the table in Conference USA and could be a BCS buster.
Originally posted by no1marauderAnyone who beats the snot out of Texas Tech deserves to be in the exalted BCS. Houston is really good. Talk about bad coaching by Leach. Instead of making it an 8 point game with a FG, to go for it on 4th with 12 minutes to go is really goofy! They deserved to lose.

Who does these ranknings anyway? They seem really off. Miami is no more a #9 than Penn St a #5 or Ole Miss a #4 and Cal a #6. FRankly most of the top five would have trouble with Houston.

What am I saying? What a week/day of upsets. Penn St. falls to Iowa! Now Iowa is a very well coached football team! What a game this was. Now I can't wait till OSU/Iowa in NOvember!
I never would have thunk it. Oh how I love college football!!
It appears that Iowa is like OSU in that it lives and dies on "D". Of course, the media hates it. In fact, after the OSU/Illionios game the ESPN announcer said that that was the ugliest 30-0 win he had ever seen. I say, any time you are able to pitch back to back shut outs in college ball, you have something special and will stay in pretty much any game, no matter who you may have played in those two games.

Originally posted by whodeyCollege ball far better than NFL. I fall asleep during most NFL games. I never feel like overdosing on NFL yet yesterday I watched almost every game. Any ugly college game is far better than the prettiest NFL game. D makes for great games. Iowa's D-fense sure showed up Penn's QB for the mediocrity he is. IOwa-OSU should be a titanic struggle indeed. MIami's QB could not stand real SEC D! OU-Miami should lay Miami to rest once and for all. After a full day of NCAAF NFL is as boring as it gets!
100% agree!! Houston should be in the top 10.
TCU is another team flying quietly under the radar. We'll see when the going gets tougher. Now Wash loses to Stanford. I'm glad I'm not a betting man. I'd pull my hair out and quietly await my bookie to come and break my kneecaps!
Originally posted by badmoonI acn't think of a single college snoozer yesterday. Almost every game was exciting and to the wire except Cal,/Oregon. Houston is exciting to watch and for a team with no D that goal line stand was magnificent. How about LSU's goal line stand. LSU's#3 is a monster player like few others. What a read on that broken up pass! What a punt return for a TD. HOw come the teams we personally love don't seem to recruit difference makers like that. Where does Iowa find a Clayborne and that punter? I love Paterno but he was outcoached!!!!
I agree. I p;ay NFL fantasy football, otherwise except for occasional betting I have little interest in the NFL.
Originally posted by scacchipazzoI remember a few years back when they played. Neither team scored an offensive touch down. Brutal!!

Luckily it will be played at the Shoe rather than in Iowa. I do like what Iowa did to the opponents locker rooms, however. They painted them pink!! LOL.
Originally posted by shortcircuitBut I thought they were in the top 20? If so, why is this such a stretch? Do you really think that teams over them, like Penn State, could really beat them? What is bad are teams like Texas that really don't play much of anyone. I suppose Oklahoma is always a big game, but other than that, it should be a cake walk to the NC.
LOL
Originally posted by whodeyindeed Texas has not played or beaten anyone and yet remains #2. But then again neither has Boise St at#5 or Alabama. This will all change soon. Texas OU should be good with Bradford back and may settle the matter for Texas. No cakewalk since they have a conference championship unlike the Pac10. Their path is laways easier(Pac10's). The ones who also hardly ever play anyone are the ACC teams. All top ten teams have a bunch of patsies on their schedules.
