I couldn't live with myself knowing I took money from a sucker like yourself.
Not only will the Reds defy all odds and make it to the World Series, thus bankrupting Las Vegas and every single bookie on the globe, but the Indains will meet them there just to be able to see the expression on Tommy Lasorta's face who said that no team from Ohio will be in the fall classic..
(Psst. I think it is one of the 7 signe mentioned in Revelation).
If you don't have enough conviction to back up your declaration, then you lack merit.
BTW, the world ended two weeks ago.

Ummmm Smooks....where are the fish now????
I loyally stand by them each game, but it is certainly heart-breaking. Edwin the coach has stepped down even though everyone knows it couldn't be all his fault.
Fred, I was merely celebrating my team's success before, would you like to ridicule them some? They can't beat high school teams. They had it coming. All their wins before June were a fluke. They don't deserve to be on the field with real players.. come on, say it.
Originally posted by no1marauderI do believe the redbirds were playing their game, which is pretty well regardless of him. I remember seeing he wasn't hitting much at all in the beginning.. I don't know the numbers, but I think it won't make much of a difference.
Bad news for the Cards: Pujols has a fractured left wrist and will be out at least 4-6 weeks.
Does this kill their chances in the NL Central?

The baseball season is about 30 weeks long. If he's out 4-6 weeks, that's between 13.3% and 20% of the season. This means that the Cards are missing about 2 wins above replacement. This of, course, assumes that their backup will be an average replacement. Assuming he's not, let's say they lose another game.
So, statistically, the Cards should lose something like 2-3 wins because of the Pujols injury. So, the question is whether they could otherwise have won the NL Central by more than 2-3 games. I think they definitely could, given that they're in first place now and that Milwaukee is probably not the most serious contender in the world.

LaRussa is a genius though and I am sure the Cards won't pull a "Red's fold up".
Originally posted by shortcircuitWhat kind of "fold up" did they pull last year? Their "genius" manager had them in first place as late as August 13 only to have them go 21-27 the rest of the way.

Originally posted by shortcircuitThey "may". They "may" win the division. But neither are likely scenarios (I really don't care if they temporarily move ahead of the Reds; the only standings I care about are the final ones).
Just watch those Pirates. They make knock your Reds into 4th soon.
The Reds are taking their lumps in inter-league but still are only 2 1/2 back (and gained significant ground last week). They remain in a good position to overtake both the Brewers and the Cardinals.

they are the leaders and someone else must catch them.
However, if your team is trailing they are in a good position to
overtake the leader.
You are not the only one guilty of looking at things this way, but since you said it,
I figured I would mention it at this time.
You can root for your team, but that doesn't mean they have the goods.
Another fun fact....you are agreeing with whodey on something.
You both hope the Reds can win it.
