Bla bla. England and USA are both going through to the next round, whether you like it or not.
Kaita displayed petulance and maliciously lashed out and was very, very deservedly sent off.
Mexico's penalty was solid, the referees had no choice according to the rules of the game. You don't know the difference between simulation (that's a dive) and a pr ng at full sprint right through a player that suddenly puts both legs right in front of you.
Originally posted by scacchipazzoThe ball went out of play, Kaita thought it was a throw-in to Nigeria, but the Greek player caught the ball and wouldn't give it to him within 0.3 seconds, so Kaita pushed him and then tried to kick him in the leg. If you did not see that then you didn't watch the game and probably shouldn't be posting your uninformed opinions on it.

Also, you should stop watching football if it upsets you this much. For your own health.
Originally posted by hopscotchLet em play is all I say. Rigorist refereeing mars the enjoyment of the sport. If you're going to send off every push, shove or hard fought play you should not be a ref, but a judge in soft thing like a beauty contest. Your point is "tried" to kick, but did not. He restrained himself. An actual kick is different. You are asking for the ref to read petulance in a player's mind. So the Greek wasn't petulant in not handing the ball back? Why does he get to make the call and not the Nigerian player? I thought the ref makes the calls! But as usual with you Europeans you feel Europeans are entitled to make calls but not third worlders. Equality for some? Some more equal than others! Let them play! A send off is such a huge disadvantage it should be reserved for really bad plays.

It's funny how you seem to have this chip on your shoulder regarding Europe and use every opportunity to attack Europeans by their supposed snottiness. Grow up. If anyone here is being parochially snotty it's you.
Originally posted by PalynkaMy mistake. realized it as soon as I posted then forgot to come back and correct my error. Parochially snotty? You are indeed funny and less humorless than the other Europeans. You have to agree the send off was harsh, however. As for chip on shoulder. Nah! I love Europe despite their evident snootiness and attitude about USA. You are about one of the few I have any respect for.
Hopscotch is not European.

Hope tomorrow's games are better refereed than today's. It always sems like the refereeing becomes more suspect as the tourny progresses! That's a crying shame. USA was robbed of the win by a bad call!
The intensity of this world cup really picked up in this second round.
