Game 4079582
Originally posted by TyrannosauruschexNot a prediction. Just a method of ranking, devised by dawghaus earlier in this thread, taking the average of the points received so far and the maximum possible points available. It is equivalent to saying points in hand plus 1.5 points per remaining game.
You are selling yourself a bit short there gatecrasher - do you not believe you can win it even if you are the current leader?
Another one, hot off the press.
Game 4079565
There has been lots of activity this week.
Tournament 1677
1. English Tal (19 - 34) = 26.5
2=. cludi (20 - 32) = 26
2=. Gatecrasher (14 - 38) = 26
4. David Tebb (21- 27) = 24
5. Salin i Vitalik (11 - 32) = 21.5
6.= Pattrick06 (9 - 9) = 9
6.= Philidor284 (9 - 9) = 9
8. uffejaster (5 - 11) = 8
David Tebb and English Tal have done the best against the bottom three (+5 =1 -0). Among the top five players, there have been 6 draws and 2 decisive games (Gatecrasher d. David Tebb, cludi d. Salin i Vitalik).
It's still a very close race.

My winning spree is about to end. Evaluating the remaining games, I'll be lucky to score a point per game. Not enough to win.
I predict that English Tal will win the tournament, with cludi the runner-up.
Hello to everybody !
First I would like to say that I'm very proud to play this very hard final against such terrific players !
I would also like to attract your attention on a beautiful game I've lost against cludi : I say 'beautiful' because it has been a very good strategic lesson of how to defend against a violent (but poorly planned) attack.
Somebody said here that the winner will be the player who scores 2-0 against me... Cludi has already made half the way and has a good chance to win the tourney unless... consider the fact that I can lose 2-0 to several players ! I'm not boasting but I'm really capable of doing just that !
Anyway : what a tough round, and what a pleasure it is to meet such great opponents !
All the best from Paris !
I would like to add that there are no losers in this stage of the tournament,everyone who made it this far have already proved themselves very competent, it is the most looked at and followed tournament of them all and all the players in it are of a fantastic level, a level I will never play at, but at least I get to watch 🙂
