@no1marauder saidTo be fair, back then, "The People" didn't include blacks (or any non-whites) and an argument can be made it didn't include women either. In fact, you could even perhaps argue that "the people" mainly referred to land-owning white men.
The Framers would disagree; take a gander at the first three words of the Preamble to the US Constitution.
There was definitely an ideological concept of "The People" rather than the literal meaning of the word.
BTW, this isn't an attack; I get the impression you believe I'm out to cut you down when I reply. I'm simply sharing a view.

@vivify saidI'm pretty sure the Framers were aware that blacks and women were people.

@no1marauder saidThey were also aware of blacks and women when they said "All men are created equal".

@lemon-lime saidCool. A very good point. Need more posts like this.
What distinction do you make between "The American People" and American people?
I asked you about this 4 years ago when you referred to the people as being "The People".
When you do this it appears you are pointing to an ideological abstract rather than (literally) all people.
For example, is anyone here inclined to believe the Peoples Republic of China literally repr ...[text shortened]... believing the validity of an ideology simply because it contains the word 'People'.

@no1marauder saidYou are pretending to not get his point. Libs do this a lot. Like Sonhouse, who just said that it is Ok for a woman to choose to abort (kill) a baby (I have proven it is a baby by 'twin' analogy), but he said later that he he does not think it is OK to kill babies. Extremely difficult in our busy lives with so many issues to fool with this non-logic. C'mon Sonhouse, help us out.

@no1marauder saidA clever answer, but the preamble does not exclude groups of people you might find personally objectionable.

In reality the 'people' of The Peoples Republic of China is the State... the people who are able to exercise power for themselves and for their own benefit.
Like it or not, most Americans are not exactly thrilled at the idea of being servants of the State. We've enjoyed our freedoms and self autonomy for too long to simply give it all up in a few short years.

@lemon-lime saidNot sure what your rant actually means.

Anywhoooooooo... getting back to the OP, i.e. predictions.
• The left pump themselves up with false narratives.
• Trump wins electoral and popular vote.
• Not close enough to warrant a recount or any other action.
• The left relapses back into a state of despondency despair and denial... and anger.
And let's not forget the much anticipated 'October surprise'.

@lemon-lime saidLemon,,,,,please dont leave us hanging ......what do these maniacs and mob-rule people do next, just after the 'despair and denial...and anger." PLEASE tell me they wont go in the street again, I just hate it when they crowd the streets. I can't get to my health club, assuming it will still be there. I really do have a secret place to go, though, when they unleash. I dont feel guilty about going, my children will have plenty of money, and I have done all that I can do to make america great again, no matter the outcome. Kinda cool that I will have witnessed Armageddon in my lifetime, brought on by people I have come to know (On this Forum), believe it or not. I would like to look into their vacant eyes before I depart this world. They will be saying, dam, AverageJoe1, earl and Mott were right all along...........

Having said that, the whole point of winding people up into a frothing maddog mass of chaotic idiocy is to intimidate 'the masses'. If Trump loses then mission accomplished, the mob celebrates and eventually disappears back into the shadows. But if Trump wins (and he will) then all bets are off... the mob is already wound up, so it could get worse, or abate or stay the same.
It's a crap shoot.
Predicting the actions of people who don't understand the difference between rights and wisdom is also a bit of a crap shoot.
This is how I illustrated the difference to my kids when they were youngsters in elementary school....
You have the right to cross the street at a crosswalk when the light says go. You have that right.
But that right can't prevent you from getting hurt if you don't pay attention to traffic.
By the same token I have the right to go into downtown Portland and areas nearby, regardless of what Portland's mob is up to. Fortunately, I live far enough from downtown Portland to not be personally affected by the nightly chaos and destruction, and now I don't bother to go there at all.
But it's not all doom and gloom. Bounce will still be available at the grocery store regardless of who becomes president.
Toilet paper is another matter. If Biden takes over there will be a mad rush to stock up on toilet paper like the world has never before witnessed, nor will ever see apain!!!

@averagejoe1 saidHands up!
Sonhouse, you admit somewhere above that you are OK with killing babies, but not OK with restricting their movements...Oh, that is really bad. Then, after that, you want me to associate myself with your posts,, like this one slamming Trump about not mentioning something about another really bad cop, who may have a reason for what he did, .....(the knife,, whatever)...yo ...[text shortened]... ss? Thanks. Whew. Libs. You are an angry lot. With no answers to my questions. How bout it.

You know, the US has been through this same predicament before. Is this one going to have to be handled the same way? Reservations?
@averagejoe1 saidSo you'll go peaceably when they finally come for you. Noted.
If he wins, i will back him as president and work to maintain a sovereign country to leave to our grandchildren. I will not tear up anything. You’re welcome.

@AverageJoe1
After the election the mob will take the winter off.
Black folk don’t like the cold.
What will spring bring us?
