@divegeester saidThe war is as yet also unwinnible for Putinthe aggressor wouldn't it be fair to ask him to stop wasting the lives of his compatriots?
Yes it should.
Kind of irrelevant when we are over a 1000 days into supporting an unwinable war, and way to go missing the point of the OP.
@shavixmir saidI’m not talking about Putin, treaties he may have signed or horses he may have riden. What I’m talking about is the blatantly obvious partisanship, warmongering and sabre rattling by Biden which is escalating this conflict and being done so with complete disregard to the immediate safety of potentially millions of civilians.
I know they’re not part of NATO.
You do realise that Putin is a cracker, don’t you?
Now, I personally don’t think we should be waging a proxy war with Russia in Ukraine; to be honest, the Ukranian regime is not my cup of tea. I’ve made this clear from start.
And Russia has no end game which is going to end well for them, I’ve pointed this out multiple times since the ...[text shortened]... for the foreseeable future. Way too costly.
And that’s basically neutering Putin’s expansion drift.
It has now been reported this afternoon that British long range missiles have now also been fired into Russia for the first time. If you are going to sit there at your keyboard and pretend you can’t see what is going on here then frankly I’m disappointed because it’s bloody obvious.

@Ponderable saidFeel free to do so.

Well done again for avoiding the point I’m making in this thread with more whataboutism about the asshole Putin’s behaviour which is not a benchmark for how the west should behave.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidAppears to me the 'Bear' needs the Koreans to help him. So much for going in and taking Ukraine in 1 week.
Probably not, but he's still poking the bear.

@divegeester saidYou can only say if there was a step in retrospect.
What the heck is he thinking!
How near have we been to nuclear war in the 80's has Reagens behaviour increased or decreased the risk? Mote point it didn't happen and we can't really know.
had it happened at least tehre would be no opinion from me....from lack of life.

@divegeester saidWhat’s going on according to you? Other than what I just told you.

@divegeester saidWell, then it just doesn’t make sense.
It’s all in my posts in this thread.
The West has been pursuing the same policy since the start. Allowing their rockets to fire into Russian territory isn’t actually that much of an escalation.
Not compared to sending armor and billions of dollars worth of other weaponry.
Yes. Putin will obviously flare up about it.
But Russia is gaining ground at the moment and the West wants to halt that.
When trump gets into power, blah blah blah, I’ve already explained it.
@divegeester saidEscalation .. Crazy Putin said he will use nukes on countries supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles. So its a possible WW III in the making. Find a nice quiet country away from the line of fire and take an extended vacation. I hope the RAF is on alert. Also this is the nice thing about having Israel as an ally. They wont sit back and enjoy the show. They will stick their guns in there and help.

@shavixmir saidThe issue is that now Ukraine is firing long-range missiles at Russian towns and weapons installations far inside Russian territory. Whoever supplies Ukraine with these are going to come under attack from Russian nukes. This is what Putin threatened. The UK is on the list.
Well, then it just doesn’t make sense.

A couple of months ago he was deemed unfit to be President by his own party and in less than two months he’s out of power.
I am dead against it. Sorry, but this is a step too far imo.

@divegeester saidThe only one bringing us closer to a nuclear war is Putin and Russia. This whole mess was started by Putin and Russia; period. To blame Biden is a liars joke.
What the heck is he thinking!
@Rajk999 saidI have no issue with anyone kicking anyone’s ass if the need demands it, but in this instance the war is at a stalemate and negotiations are obviously the next step otherwise what…!?

Wars only end in one of three ways:
1) one side is completely destroyed e.g. Nazi Germany
2) one side backs down, this ain’t going to happen
3) negotiation
That’s it. Take your pick.
@spruce112358 saidIs that what you think the US has been doing in Ukraine, governing just the US?
That would be like the United States governing just ... the United States. Or China governing... just China. Or Slovakia governing... just Slovakia.
It's crazy, man. Bananas.
😆
@KingDavid403 saidNot anymore. Now Biden and the UK are escalating it. Just watch what happens. US pulling their embassy out of Kiev - if you watch history in these examples that should tell you everything.

It’s curious how you Arab sympathisers don’t take this arbitrary approach when assessing the Middle East war.
