Well I was home schooled, and I disagree totally that the government has the right to force parents to send their kids to public school to let the government teach our kids what the government wants the kids to believe, . What gives the government the right to do this??!?!? Where did our freedom go?
There may be a few bad apples that sours the whole view of homeschoolers to the general world. But homeschooling has made my life. I could have never been where I am today had I never been home schooled. I have a 3.96 GPA in my B/S of Aviation Science (which isn't perfect, but I found homeschooling to prepare me well for college) My brothers and sisters are very successful in life too, my sister makes a 100 k a year and shes only 21 year old. My brother has been working in construction since 10 years old and is a superintendent overseeing the whole construction company and is only 19 years old. The Homeschooling group I was involved in with doing sports, field trips, etc, also is very successful in life, well above the average population.
Im not saying were smarter then anyone else, in certain subjects we may be less when average (myself its english), but we got more of an opportunity to excel in the areas we love and enjoy.
Im thankful for parents who taught me the values of a good hard working family, and when other kids were inside watching TV, we was out playing baseball, or building an engine etc.
