Sorry, i didn't read the end of your post. My sentence didn't make any sense whatsoever anyway (it was early when i wrote it). As for you trying tying to get to the root of problem, most of your post was dedicated to your contemplation of his sexuality (which I should add is not part of the problem). And as for not attacking anyone you seemed rather condesc ...[text shortened]... n attempt to be humorous. I dont even think I have ever replied to one of your posts either.
As for the root of the problem, you may have posted three thread regarding homosexuality, but I don't think that you started two different threads asking how one goes about becoming gay, which is what BroEdwin did. I don't care whether someone is gay or not. Homosexuality is not a new phenomenon. It has been around since there have been people. Many cultures in the world accept it. Brother Edwin truly seems to be trying to find out how to become gay. I think he is repressing something and these threads are an attempt to come to grips with it. Our society, here in the US, tells us from the time we are very young that homosexuality is wrong and causes many people to live a life that is not fulfilling. Maybe if he comes out he will be happier. I am not condemning anyone for the choices that they make(other than voting for Bush) I just think that he is reaching out and someone needs to tell him it is okay to be gay.

As for Br. Edwin I don't think he's trying to become gay. But your right, the debate has been done before, why is he pursuing it again?

I think we're getting to the point where someone will say this, so it's going to be me.
gays should all be honorary pre-mambers of the Darwin society for keeping their genes out of the pool...
Yeah, I suppose I'm a heterophile...
I should also remind you that:
1) Many gays can have children
2) There genes are still passed down by their brothers and sisters
3) We dont know if homosexuality is caused by genes anyway, so what exactly is wrong with them?

Originally posted by Peachybullocks? why if they are going to go down that route, they may as well also talk goats and cows and chickens and pheasants and ducks and duck plucking and pheasant plucking and rose farming and bush pruning and soil sodding and tree rooting and trunk stumping and and and and and......
...and you are telling me you are surprised by that..?
Since when the Forum had any good threads.. people are boooored.. let
them talk bullocks..
Originally posted by Conrau KSorry just to clarify - I believe that some people have a higher disposition to try homosexual experiences innately than others.
I'm not disagreeing with you at all. Its just that The Slow Pawn completely effaced your response and replaced it with another.
EDIT: This thread really has diverged from the "is homosexuality a choice" debate.
Like most things in life sexuality is a mix of the biological and environmental, with biology being the stronger force.
However ultimately acting on those feelings is a choice.
What you look for in a partner is far more diverse than just their sexuality, it also includes personality and looks also come into it.
Pretty much the only reason gays are not accepted with open arms,
as it were🙂, is a few words in the bible and koran, so those words
set the stage for thousands of years of rejection of gays.
Did anyone ever stop and think just why gay activity was accepted in
ancient rome? Could it be that all happened before the advent of
christanity and islam? I think so.
Just another way religion totally screws up entire societies.
If gayness is just a choice, since by that definition, genes have nothing
to do with it, why hasn't it disappeared? It should have been bred
out of us after 2000 years of rejection shouldn't it?
So the fact that it hasn't to me has to mean there is a genetic
factor going on here, somehow the sexual wiring gets crossed and
gayness happens, man on man, or woman on woman. All of the
homophobes out there, THEY are the real problem, not accepting
what is a natural variation of humanity. Think also about this:
Do we really NEED 6 billion people on the planet? I think not, so
being gay and NOT having children is a plus as far as I can see.
Homophobes have an underlying fear they will somehow be
confronted with gays and be converted, I think, so you have cases like
that 18 year old kid who goes into a gay bar and starts beating
people and shooting up the place, all because of his own inner fears.
Homophobes, they are here to stay, they will be here a thousand
years from now, they were here ten thousand years ago, so live with it.
Everyone wants a free society but it can't be free if you suppress a
whole sector of it based on a few stupid words of a couple of insane
religions. Like the fabulous furry freak brothers say, it aint a free
country unless you can smoke what you chooses, goes for gayness
also. You can't at the same time call it a free society and suppress
our natural urges that don't come from choice but the natural
variability inherent in the human race. You have a spectrum of
strength, some weak, some a hell of a lot stronger, both men and
women, you have a spectrum of intelligence, dumb and dumber,
you have a spectrum of health, some healthy in spite living in
a nasty environment, some weak in spite of living in a condo(maybe
because of it but thats another issue) so why is it such an impossiblity
for homophobes to accept a spectrum of sexual orientation?
So total straight on one side of the graph to total gay on the other
side, there are going to be people spread out on that spectrum
no matter what country, no matter what society, no matter what century
you happen to find youself so those who hate it better get with the
idea its no choice and live with it, accept humanity in all its diversity.
