Anyway the good news is that Germany is upping its military support for Ukraine including 50 anti aircraft tanks which will be very handy, so I guess the letter got lost in the post or accidentally on purpose got filed in the shredder.

It is absolutely impossible to discuss with such persons who reply in such a dogmatic manner. Indeed, if such people are dominating in the Western world, then the only option left to Russia and China are the military options and the WW3.

Given the NATO status of the Baltic states hopefully we will flush them back over the border.

It doesn’t make sense that Russia and Ukraine aren’t sitting down and working out some kind of an agreement. If they don’t do it soon, there will be nothing left but death, destruction, and carnage. This is a war that never should have happened, but it did. The solution can never be as good as it would have been before the shooting started, but there is a solution, and it should be figured out now—not later—when everyone will be DEAD!

It doesn’t make sense that Russia and Ukraine aren’t sitting down and working out some kind of an agreement. If they don’t do it soon, there will be nothing left but death, destruction, and carnage. Honestly I agree with the sentiment but there are much better advocates for peace than the guy who claimed Putin was a genius for invading Ukraine.

The West is contributing to Zelensky's delusion that the Ukraine can achieve a military victory with sufficient hardware from the West when the facts on the ground are the Russians continue to advance in the South, albeit slowly using their greatest advantage: artillery (the quality and quantity of which has been a characteristic of the Russian military for more than 200 years). Every day the war continues the worse position the Ukraine is at the bargaining table.
"History doesn't repeat itself but it often rhymes" (credit to Mark Twain) and this situation is reminiscent of the Winter War of 1939-40 where the Finns scored some spectacular successes early in the war but the Soviets regrouped, massed their artillery at the most critical point and broke Finnish resistance. This remains the most likely outcome (though the Finns got a relatively generous peace which is now rather unlikely for the Ukraine).

You really think a dude as nuts as Putin would never stoop to nukes in Ukraine? His closest aides say he went total nuts when the war wasn't over in a week like his advisors said. Also, I don't think for a minute if Ukraine did accede to Putin's 'conditions', Putin would go, ok, great, then just continue with the attacks.
Today Putin sent missiles into the heart of Kyev killing innocent civilians as well as flattening whole cities in the south, leaving Ukrainian dead on the streets for weeks showing they could care less about whom they kill.
He completely controls all media in Russia now so the propaganda machine is working well for Putin, they believe all the BS he shouts on the news.
I assume you also know the present Nobel prize winner was attacked with red paint laced with acetone burning his eyes. Dmitry Muratov is a stanch media freedom advocate targeted directly by Putin. Is that ok with you?
