If you think my comment is aimed as a way of explaining or apologizing for the evil of others on 9/11 then you are seriously mistaken. Evil is evil and the vengeful response of a supposed Christian nation as a reaction to the evil perpetrated by extremists who also claimed God's blessings are no less evil.

America as a nation will survive the Bush era and doctrine. The cloaking of America's response to terrorist attack as some form of righteous prerogative is no less misguided as those in the Islamic community who take up violent militant action as their jihad response to what they consider to be injustice.

Criticizing America's response to 9/11 does not legitimize the terror that occured that day. Terror whether fought individually or institutionally is just as evil.

That's what my moral compass directs me to conclude.
