Self-abuse is a sin, the bible says so. And if any of us want to inherit the kingdom we must give up earthly pleasures such as self-abuse. I say eat graham crackers as snacks, it is a mild food which will reduce sexual cravings, and the start of the day should be with kellogs corn flakes.

us humans have the image of god (Gen 1:26 or 27) and therefore we must have god-like qualities in everything we do, would the good lord self-abuse himself? of course not!

let us not forget what the great prophet Matthew said, 'yyou have heard that it was said, 'don't commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart"

and let us not forget that self-abusers always look at pornographic materials or think lustful things in their hearts. This is a sin according to the bible.

self abuse is compulsive, this is nothing more than slavery to the sin! too many self-abusers use self-abuse as a way to have an emotional "high" that it is to say that these self-abusers don't know how to express anger, sadness, depression, boredom --- so they resort to self abuse for an uplift. what is the diference between self abuse and heroin or cocaine? nothing!

thinking lustful thoughts makes self-abusers seek out those things in real life! BIG trouble, BIG sin is awaiting.......

Self abusers just keep in mind these glorious words of the lord who doesn't self-abuse himself

The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace. The sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Romans 8:6-7.

Romans 13:14 "Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature."

Flee from sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18.

Nobody takes the teachings of the bible literally.

When did Jesus say cocaine or heroin was bad?
I didn't even know they had cocaine in Jesus' times.

self abuse
you can't rape yourself.
masturbation can't be considered ''self abuse'', maybe ''self pleasuring''.

Actually, I first thought he was talking about automutilation, I thought the last people who were worried about masturbation died in the Middle Ages.

Does it have to be Kellog's, or would a different brand of corn flakes work, too? What about Weetabix?

I think you have misinterpreted Mr. Onan and his sin. See, Onan wasn't punished for "self-abuse"; he was punished for spitting his seed upon the ground rather than into the female beside him at the time.

Well I suppose that such a position is a personal one that is between you and your God. However, don't expect those that are not of faith to understand your position. In fact, expect ridicule because there is no reason for them to understand. After all, its not against the law is it?

I think perhaps your question would be better addressed in the spirituality forum for those of faith. I think that would be a more condusive discussion.

Well, yeah? If indeed he created us, the answer should be self-evident.
