Here is some words to you:
Not forget!
Maybe forgive.
But never confuse history with ppl of to day.
The needs of the many goes before the needs of the few and the one.

See. I disagree on a certain level.
People did vote Bush in. On a certain level, a certain amount of responsibility has to be carried.
Not Bush personally, the man is an idiot, but the administration that the population did not oppose (note that I don't use: "voted for" ).
This population carries the weight of the decisions being made on t ...[text shortened]... contempories.
But should I live in Cuba, I would still fight for fair and free elections.
Well, I have to say that I feel bad for you in that people associate Hitler with you because you come from the same peice of real estate and all. However, I have to say that Hitler is fun to pick on. He has become the embodiment of all evil in human form in modern times. He is fun to pick on in that some people try and convince themselves that evil does not exist. Then when you bring up Hitler you must then conceede on some level that evil does in fact exist. Then when you come to this conclusion you begin to ask yourself, where does this evil come from?

The British really admire the Germans in so many ways, far more than the French for example. But there is something about the serious and literal image we have of the German stereotype that sadly makes most Brits laugh.
I for one have laughed at many of the British tabloid's continual war jokes. I apologise, it is pathetic but I can't help myself.
Part of the problem is that the Germans are too good at everything else.

WWII,spanish inquisition, napoleonic wars, killings of native americans, slavery, genghis khan are all heinous acts and not of course to be forgotten, but neither blame them on inocent people.

I dont understand why a lot of germans feel embarrased when I express my admiration for your country .
The 1932-1945 period of the Nazi Regime doesnt mean the hole German history !!!
Nevertheless some of yours feel so shame because of the WWII that forget what German culture , science, & technology ( and also chess ! ) has done for the entire world .
BTW history books are written by the winners ... they never mention the stupid actions they did to punish Germany after WWI ...
Grüssen !
