That's the question, Delmer. Have i to learn with it or have i to complain about them! I think both is right, because i had to defend myself against these things two years and for every time i got upset with that i had better arguments!! You may imgine that if you get confrontate with these thigns as a 14-years-old-teen you don't know what to say.......

But, the thing to do, what works for me, is to not let things get to you. People can think what they want to.
Originally posted by Palynkahardly anyone remembers the commies, trade-unionists and gays (and god knows who else) who went to the death camps.
That's ridiculous. A decade or two? So the majority of the people that would still be alive then would just delete it from their memories?
I see no reason why I should believe that in one or two generations time nobody will really remember anyone going to death camps.
Sort of like the first concentration camps, built by the English to exterminate Africans....who on earth remembers them? That was only 30 years earlier!

Bolko, no one thinks you're a nazi. We don't judge you because of one leader you've had. One bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch.
Things happened in the past for example Iraq-war or nazi-time shouldn't be connected with people who hasn't to do a damn with it.
When i meet an american i don't bring up the iraq war because i know nearly everybody hasn't to do anything with it!
That's just what i expect to me.......
What you said gives me the feeling i would like to have more often :-)

Originally posted by shavixmirI disagree. We are all agreed it was a very troubled time in our history but I don't think it will be forgotten. You say that people forget the other groups that were persecuted but they are still being taught in our schools I didn't even do a GCSE in history (I did geography) but I was taught about it. It is one of the most interesting times in the worlds history and it is one that will continue to interest people. There will always be books written about it, films made about it and TV documentaries. Also I would expect it will still be taught in schools for a long time to come.
That's not what I meant....
I meant in a decade or two nobody will remember the holocaust at all (except a few historians).
If one thing happens I think it may be the blurring of the line between fiction and reality. It will not be forgotten though.
Originally posted by alive 69The thing is with Americans and Iraq is that some must have endorsed it. Some Americans who are alive now must have wanted and thought it was the right thing to do. They might have expressed this in many ways. They may of joined the army, they may of voted for bush or they may just have done nothing to prevent it. I am not saying all Americans think it is the right thing to do or all Americans are for it all I am saying is that some are.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
