Hey Guys!
I'm 14 years old and from Germany, but although i'm the generation that hasn't to do anything with it, i'll always get connected with hitler and nazi-stuff!!! I just would like to know why!!! Things happened at that time were horrible but i cannot change it and it's OVER!!!!! If it would change something i apologie standing for every german for t ...[text shortened]... to FORGET some things now!
Have any ideas?
Greetings Bolko alias alive
I don't think we should forget what the Germans did in the 30's.
I don't think we should forget what Julius Ceasaer did to the Gauls.
I don't think we should forget what the US did to Vietnam.
Etc.
I do, however, don't think that it is right to blame the current generation for what their parents, grand-parents or distant relatives did.
But, even so, there is a question of learning. Learning who opposed. Learning to oppose each individual matter which concerns such hatreds which history judges so harshly.
Our time is now.
Who do you oppose? Who are you fighting, to be included in the rightiousness of history?
As for me, I oppose imperialism (the US), I oppose borders (immigration laws), I oppose the Dutch government (in nearly everything) and I oppose mass hysteria leading to generalisations (US=bad, HAMAS=bad, Islam=bad, Castro=communism).
We are the people who determine the future of our world. It is up to us to change things. Matters past are in the past and nothing is going to haul them out of there.
But it should it not be forgotten. It should be remembered and learned from!!!

That's the question, Delmer. Have i to learn with it or have i to complain about them! I think both is right, because i had to defend myself against these things two years and for every time i got upset with that i had better arguments!! You may imgine that if you get confrontate with these thigns as a 14-years-old-teen you don't know what to say.......
...[text shortened]... all again for your openion and regard. please keep on posting here

Hey shvimix and delmer!
PLEASE be more seroius aboutthis thread - i didn't make it for you fooling around!!! SORRY
alive 69, I'm dead impressed with your attitude towards all this and tell your dad the world is full of tossers and he needn't feel guilty either.
True shavixmir, but it's important not to oppose the whole usa just because of bush and not just to oppose whole kuba because of fidel castro!!
But i think we the main thing is just that germans (exspecially my generation) gets connected with germany's paste although they didn't live at that time.......if an american says: "I'm proud to be american" nobody would even look BUT if a german says:"I'm proud to be a german" everybody would accuse him of beeing nazi. That's thw world
and delmer.....thanks for supporting me :-)

True shavixmir, but it's important not to oppose the whole usa just because of bush
People did vote Bush in. On a certain level, a certain amount of responsibility has to be carried.
Not Bush personally, the man is an idiot, but the administration that the population did not oppose (note that I don't use: "voted for" ).
This population carries the weight of the decisions being made on their shoulders, unless they verbally and activily oppose it.
They are, however, not responsible for the decisions of their parents.
As for Cuba.
Yeah, Castro is just another dictator.
But, he has suffered one of the longest and severest trade embargos in history (and Cuba makes sugar and cigars). And yet he's managed to get more doctors per head of the population than the US, better medical services going and until recently he'd completely obliterated the child sex industry (which was a major attraction of Cuba before he came to power).
I think history will judge him far fairer than many of his contempories.
But should I live in Cuba, I would still fight for fair and free elections.

Thanks Wheely!
Thank you all to have an ear free for me!
My father was very shocked........imgine you would go in a restaurant as a german and you've to quit the house because you're what you are and get accused of beeing NAZISH!T!!!!!
That's hard
Shavixmir, you're defently not wrong, (although i don't agree with everything) but you're loosing the topic.....
What gives others the right to point thier finger on me and accuse me of beeing a nazi??????
Goethe said:" Who points his finger on somebody else, point three fingers on himself" - of course he said it in german :-)

Originally posted by alive 69That is my point exactly. No finger can be pointed at you for what was done without your opposition.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Absolutely stunning in it's honesty and ability to get right to the heart of what that period of history was about.
I have seen it before but it's worth repeating. Thanks Shavixmir.

I actually don't know what your point is with this evil a§§hole Goebblels and don't know why you're posting some of his speakings......?????
If you block them out it will do you no good. Just accept that this is what was and look at this quote from outside and be amazed that he could have said this in the same way that we are.
Yes, you're right!
I'm cool with this!! I take it like history......not that emotionally....
I've informated a year ago much witht this part of german history because i think to say "hitler sux" you've to know what you're excatly talking about. and not just to talk this because you want t o say something or others say it........
That's my openion....
