@no1marauder saidBold prediction
Depends. BTW, States aren't "closed" so they won't need to "open back up". But I'll take your propaganda wording to mean when non-essential businesses will be permitted to reopen.
June maybe. Hopefully sooner in NY, though May 1st is out of the question.
NYC back open by May 15

@no1marauder saidNo1, All I can say is so far Trump has not told any state to do anything as best I know.
The Donald disagrees:
"“For the purpose of creating conflict and confusion, some in the Fake News Media are saying that it is the Governors decision to open up the states, not that of the President of the United States & the Federal Government,” tweeted Trump on Monday. “Let it be fully understood that this is incorrect. It is the decision of the President, and for man ...[text shortened]... so ignorant of basic Constitutional principles has no business in the White House.
Agreed, Earl?
I see states that have shut down dentists and kept abortion clinics open. Is that the president? Lottery tickets are still being sold...? So you can't get a root canal and are in real pain but you can buy a lottery ticket on your way to get an abortion! yikes.
Trump is blowing his horn here. It is all state and local so far

@Earl-of-Trumps
Just today the dentist called to set up an appointment for Friday. They were shut down, but I guess not now.

@sonhouse saidA resurgence is highly unlikely in Sweden, where the death attributed to people that died of all causes but happened to have corona at that time, is only minuscule. It is still only 0.091/1000. As they have not had a lock-down they will have less to fear of a re-occurrence.
@Eladar
No accounting for stupid. Right now there is a resurgence of C19 in China.
I guess that could NEVER happen here since we are SO much more on the ball, eh?

@quackquack saidNot schools, but businesses.
NYC already canceled state exams for kids (given at the end of June) and will likely not reopen schools this school year.
Your prediction is bold. It simply won't actually happen.
Schools are over for the entire nation this year. Perhaps a state or two still has school.
But businesses will reopen. People will be able to buy food and survive.
@quackquack saidHave you seen the food lines?
Are you under the impression that people cannot buy food?

@quackquack saidI'm not sure; Cuomo was saying that it didn't make sense to reopen non-essential businesses without reopening the schools; someone has to look after the kids:
NYC already canceled state exams for kids (given at the end of June) and will likely not reopen schools this school year.
Your prediction is bold. It simply won't actually happen.
""Schools, businesses, workforce, transportation — it all has to be coordinated," Cuomo said. “If you say schools are closed through June then you’re effectively saying businesses are closed through June because you can’t restart the economy fully without restarting schools. Schools also provide not just education but also in many ways child care for people who can then go to work."

I don't get the impression that Cuomo wants to wait until June or cancel the entire school year. Maybe it could be extended into July.

"The president of the United States has the authority to do what the president has the authority to do, which is very powerful. The president of the United States calls the shots,” Trump said. "If we weren’t here for the states, you would’ve had a problem in this country like you’ve never seen before.
“It’s a decision for the president of the United States. Now with that being said, we’re going to work with the states because it’s very important,” he added but emphasized that “they can’t do anything without the approval of the president of the United States.”
“When somebody is the president of the United States, the authority is total, and that's the way it's got to be. It’s total, and the governors know that,” Trump said during the news conference.

Still unconcerned?

@jimmac saidwell, 0.091/1000 sounds "miniscule" but that is 91/million which is higher than the US (71).
A resurgence is highly unlikely in Sweden, where the death attributed to people that died of all causes but happened to have corona at that time, is only minuscule. It is still only 0.091/1000. As they have not had a lock-down they will have less to fear of a re-occurrence.

@Earl-of-Trumps
Australia has a very low per million death rate. They, like the rest of the Southern Hemisphere, have not even gotten started yet.
