@metal-brain saidAnd you'll do your part to make sure of that, you ghoul.
All he did is hasten inevitable deaths. Everyone is going to get it eventually.
Finally, a concrete reason for your disinformation tirades.
@suzianne saidShoot the messenger all you like, but many sources bear out the stone cold fact that Florida now has the lowest COVID new infections rate in the country (or at least is right at the bottom). Even this hysterical anti-DeSantis diatribe conceded that.
What a buffoon.
Yeah, a fake news site (Youtube for idiots) proves it.

@metal-brain saidAnd now cases seem to be on the increase in San Francisco.
History has proven sh76 right.
<sigh>
Why won't those Covidiots in Bay Area stay firmly locked down, eschew human contact, wear Haz-Mat suits in the shower and start inoculating babies fresh from the womb?
Those death-cultists are going to kill us all!
@no1marauder saidPlease allow me to jump in here and perhaps stake out a middle ground between no1marauder and sh76:
A position that discourages vaccination and increases the public health risk.
I don't consider banning private businesses from enacting vaccination policies as a "mainstream position".
I can understand the logic behind both of your arguments, but since we're now dealing with a COVID strain that has multiple variants, I would suggest the complications arising from this fact are going to make it very difficult, and perhaps impossible for health experts to come up with a workable plan to effectively combat this virus, and that government mandates and guidelines are a guide, not a gospel. It's a proven fact that vaccines, masks, and social distancing all help - up to a point, but each of us will have to decide what level of risk we want to assume.
I deeply respect both of your opinions, and am fully aware lawyers love to debate abstract hypothetical's, but would suggest it's impossible to nail the solution to this virus down too finely, given its complicated nature. 🙂
@mchill saidI appreciate the nod and the mediation effort. 🙂

I would like to point out that:
=== government mandates and guidelines are a guide, not a gospel. It's a proven fact that vaccines, masks, and social distancing all help - up to a point, but each of us will have to decide what level of risk we want to assume.===
matches my position exactly.
In fact, there's nothing in your post that I don't agree with, so I'm not sure I'd characterize it as a "middle ground."
@suzianne saidThe question to put out there is ......
What does this have to do with "religious freedom"?
No one's freedom is going away. Especially white folk's freedom. To say it is, is insane. And nothing but GOP fear-mongering.
The religious freedom to do what ??
@no1marauder saidSh ignored the post I'm quoting here, but by the time Florida's final September figures were totalled there had been over 8100 deaths and 320,000 new cases. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/florida/
You are wrong; Florida counts deaths on the date of death, not when they are finally reported. So the 5700 figure is surely an undercount which will creep up in the weeks ahead. https://www.wtsp.com/article/news/health/coronavirus/coronavirus-numbers/florida-reports-covid-death-cases-changes/67-c5d04e80-56ad-4fb7-906b-b795f6922c26
Cases are now also counted on the day ...[text shortened]... s" you are seeing is a mirage; the September case counts will also be adjusted higher in the future.
I suspect all these articles making claims of Florida's low case rate are making the same error based on that State's practice of counting cases "on the day of the positive test" which causes extreme lags compared to most States counting them when reported.

@no1marauder saidIn the last week the southern states in general have had less cases than northern states. All states show an increase though. FL had a 0.33% increase in the past week. Very little, but still an increase.

@no1marauder saidOkay, you are right.
Your article is dated September 2, 2021.
Your own link shows a sharp decrease in cases in FL though.

@metal-brain saidCases are dropping almost everywhere in the US. We won't know how much they have dropped from the catastrophic highs Florida experienced in August and September for a few more weeks due to that State's reporting procedures though.
Okay, you are right.
Your own link shows a sharp decrease in cases in FL though.
@metal-brain saidIn the US? About 500,000 in the last 7 days.
How many new cases in the last week?
