@no1marauder saidGoing after officials with power because you disagree with what they are doing is very different. It's one thing to try to replace someone in a position to regulate student behavior and get someone in there who is going to do a better job. That's politics (and it's exactly what people should be doing). It's quite another to try to boycott or get fired an actor or placekicker because you don't like their entirely irrelevant political opinions.
You should explain that to university presidents who lost their jobs because they wouldn't promise right wing members of Congress to punish students for chanting pro-Palestinian slogans.
Saying "we dug up this picture from 1997 of you in blackface, so therefore you need to lose your job as hedge fund manager" is very different than "you can't prevent or control harassment and violence on campus and therefore you need to be replaced by someone who can."

@sh76 saidGot it; if right wingers do get people fired to suppress speech by students, it's perfectly OK; if someone with no real power complains about statements made by a public figure, it's an atrocious example of " cancel culture".

@divegeester saidIt's not very hard when you are girt by sea, and anything approaching is picked up well ahead of time.
Of course, and absolutely!
Meanwhile you guys have illegal immigration under control now right?
Most illegals are visa overstayers and that's way under 1%. So yeah, the one advantage of the tyranny of distance.
