@blood-on-the-tracks saidDo you honestly believe that was the only provocation? Seems a lot more likely he was advised that after conducting himself so badly, he would do better not to argue his case and just accept whatever was claimed apologetically.
No idea what he is like as a pundit as I don't have Sky Sports, but all the Utd fan (with a child in the car) did was shout one thing like 'good result today, Jamie'.

@relentless-red saidAgree, but we know that isn't going to happen.

@Trev33
Villa goal disallowed by comedy VAR decision?
Maybe all forwards should be advised to run into somebody and fall down when defending a free kick? Best possible defensive contribution an aging forward can make??
@relentless-red saidSaw that, suppose you could argue he was offside and stopped Cavani getting to the ball but total farce it took nearly 4 minutes. Hate agreeing with the Newcastle one but it's daft to have VAR at the prem grounds only for the cup.

@trev33 saidVAR itself is daft. The definition of clear and obvious is very subjective as illustrated in this thread. As for changing the hand ball rule to make VAR work, so you actually have different rules in the same competition depending which ground you play at, madness. Even a pundit who lacks major trophies can spot that. 😁

@relentless-red saidI dont think VAR is the issue, the standard of refereeing in England is pretty shocking, that's the problem. It's not as comical in the CL or at the last euros. He did win one PL title, more than slippy and spity 😂

@trev33 saidNah, it was King Kenny who won that title for them, Shearer was just carried by him.

Of course it's European Cups that make a pundit.
@relentless-red saidI do believe it, but your scenario is interesting

So, either
a) Carra spits at the family for v little provocation
b) the multi millionaire Carra chooses to NOT tell the truth, and at least partly justify his actions by revealing some foul abuse from the gentleman concerned (in front of his own child, though I realise for some, that would not stop their chosen abuse). Carra does this to hang onto his job at Sky, knowing that his legion of Pool fans will think worse of him for the version he chooses to allow the public to see.
He doesn't come out very well in either case, does he?
Ps...I only replied because you posed the question above. Realise it is very off topic
@blood-on-the-tracks saidHe certainly had a really bad day. Worse than all Roy Keane's bar room brawls put together, but not as bad as Stan Collymore's alleged violence towards his girlfriend. Worse than Brian Clough hitting the fans or losing his mojo after Peter Taylor left.

Notice how I don't say midlander Stan Collymore when I talk about the alleged violence to women. I like the way you've dropped the 'lovable scouser' prefix in this context.

Sometimes you’re partisan bias makes you not worth replying to.

@relentless-red saidDo you keep a list of footballer heinous actions which help you justify remaining a Carra supporter?

@divegeester saidSomebody has to. The Cristiano Ronaldo fans certainly won't remember the allegations that he walked away from for you.

@relentless-red saidThis one is another attempt at humour, surely?

Your list of footballer transgressions is odd. Collymore is 'alleged' (And Stan is as much a Liverpool player as a Forest one. Played for both for around 2 years - considerably more successfully for NFFC), Keane's are unspecified.
As for Cloughie, not sure 'losing his mojo'(allegedly) is a transgression. Did King Kenny lose his mojo? Did he ever have a mojo to lose as a manager? What did for Clough, as you will know, is the booze. Your 'hitting' were aimless slaps by a drunken grandad.
What is so unpleasant about the Carra episode is that 'spitting in the face' was his weapon of choice. I have never spat in anyone's face in my life. It is vile and cowardly. IF he had said something like 'Tell you what, pal, why don't you pull over up there and get out of the car and say that to me', I think all fans (myself included) would have thought 'fair enough'
