There needs to be an understood, mutual respect between people when they are sharing thoughts, ideas...in my eyes, anyhow... Clearly, neither of you feel the same.

I do respect you, but, having shared your thoughts on a serious matter, you now seem reluctant to explain them or justify why there were so sweeping, and instead you seem to be trying to change the subject to respect or manners or whether my questions to you are "genuine".

This is not an answer. The question was: Does it apply to Saudi Arabia and Israel? Gone is the reference to the Indonesian military which might have been seen by some as obscure or even a trap.

When you refer to someone's opinions as "sweeping post-atrocity jingoistic blather," they typically tune you out. And if you are using obscure examples to bait/trap them... it doesn't usually go over well...

No one was trying to trap you. Your urging was sweeping, it comes in the wake of an atrocity, you cannot deny that your sentiment is jingoistic (or at least so US/UK-centric that you may not have actually thought about which "allies" you were referring to), and "blather" is a word that encapsulates nicely these ill thought out exhortations that you seem unwilling to defend. 🙂
