Can we have some statement of evidence and proof from the Game Mods / Admins.
Originally posted by fierytormentI wholeheartedly agree that people who are accused of cheating should get a chance to present their side. As for IronMan, he got a chance to reply to no1marauder's accusations and was invited to see the analysis, but to my knowledge he didn't make use of this. Of course, that was not an official accusation, and he still should have been given a chance to respond when he was officially accused. For all I know, he (and the others who were banned) may have been given that chance, but if he hasn't, I am not at all happy with the system.
I also won't support a site that won't give the top guy a chance to explain himself or investgate his side. It sounds like your trying to railroad the guy!

Originally posted by GatecrasherAlso it's not good enough to just hide some page away on a link that's not apparent, this is far too weak. We still need an official area that invites members to report specific games, explains the role of the Game Mods and the level of evidence required to make a case. Naming names is of little value if you don't show why the culprits are being banned. I'm sorry but this is still not a professional approach that people can understand or work with.

So, do we need "fresh ideas" or do we need to just get off these people's backs and give the time they need to do what is obviously a difficult job and a thankless task?

And if russ says he cheating, hes quilty, guilty until proven innocent which will be... never. so go on doing what you're here to do in the first place, play chess. I'm sure Akizy will enjoy an either short or long term reign at the top and good luck to Akizy in that role. NOW, game anyone?
Guys - he was a cheat. Get over it. Life goes on.
Really, this thread is bordering on bizarre.
We had people supporting the game mods system to the hilt and now, when the game mods actually do something, all hell breaks loose and people start talking like it's a complete surprise.
They've been working on these cases for ages, and yet some of you are acting like they've randomly picked names out of a barrel or something.
We have bizarre debates about whether an 1100-player would be deterred from cheating. Um, if someone ranked 1100 is using an engine, I'd say they should demand their money back.
And what's with this "but IronMan31 was reputable" rubbish? The only reason he was reputable was BECAUSE he was at the top of the tree. And how did he get to the top of the tree, then...?
The best thing about this is that very soon Akizy will be where he rightfully belongs, and then you can all worship HIM instead. Especially seeing he can even beat engines as well as humans.

There's one thing though, there was a thread a while back about some GM beating a chess engine. It had a link to a fabulus game. It was one where he had a line of pawns straight acroos the fourth flank. All 8 of them. It has his complete explanation and trains of thought on how to beat this engine. Maybe this could explain why the mods took the actoin they did, maybe it will fuel the argument even more. Could any one manage to dig this thread out?

A good question. I don't have the answer, but ...
My uneducated guess would be that Ironman will progress to the next round, but get timed out in his games. Sounds crazy, but these things are all automated and I doubt the site admins will go to great lengths to rewrite the software just to take account of circumstances like these.
I've submitted feedback about it and will wait to see what is said.
@everyone who is bickering - Happy bickering tonight folks, it's almost been entertaining. The world will most likely still be turning in the morning 🙂
