@suzianne saidDisappointed by the ending.
Currently on The Old Man, a new series on Hulu. I've only seen the first episode (out of 7), but it's got my attention. Starring Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow.
I thought it was weak and left threads hanging.
Probably because they knew they were doing a second season. It was picked up the next day after the first episode aired.
First episode strong. Last episode weak. Very weird.
@suzianne saidEver have a really “fun” holiday and go back for a second time. It always seems to be a bit disappointing the second time ‘round.🤔

@fmf saidI've just finished the fourth series. The first three were excellent. And then the fourth series, which was made after a gap of 12 years, is absolutely fabulous. It just stepped up several gears in terms of performances -[magnificent, subtle, affecting], script, art direction and production values and profundity generally. It would have been perfectly adequate if it had only been as excellent as the preceding three series but instead it completely outdid itself. One of the best TV series I have seen since COVID befell us.
Borgen. Danish political drama. Just finished airing its fourth series. About a woman who is prime minister in a coalition government. Good stuff.
@fmf saidSo unlike you to agree with yourself.
Very good.
Now proceeding with series 2.
Although it is very different in terms of scale and the mechanics of the storytelling are not the same, its production values and sensibilities remind me of the superb Narcos.
Just started The Good Fight series 6. It's a lawyers and courtroom comedy drama with distinctly surreal aspects. It also addresses issues in US culture and politics that sometimes feel shockingly current. Stars Christine Baranski. Witty. Quirky. Disarmingly thought-provoking - suddenly - every now and then [often through C21st legal/cultural conundrums]. Excellent.
King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla in a motorcade, being driven to RAF Northolt. There was a slowing down during this drive and an aerial view suddenly showed a grey haired man running alongside the motorcade. This man then managed to run across two lanes of moving traffic and position himself directly in front of the then stationary car in the third lane in which the King was being transported.
He stopped and raised his hand ……..to take a pic and wave at the King! Lucky he was grey haired I wonder?

Pink Panther shorts. The whole series has been posted on YouTube.
Saturday morning TV
Recently I watched "Goodnight Mommy" with Naomi Watts, which was a remake of an Austrian movie from 2014 by the same two main people who made "The Lodge" (2019).
Then (prompted by some similar elements) I finally watched "The Other" (1972), based on the novel by Thomas Tryon, which I think was the grandmother of those more recent films, and which might have also had some influence on "Ringu" and "Game of Thrones." Unfortunately it's not streaming in the USA, but luckily I had bought it on DVD about 12 years ago.
