Not a poll, just a discussion about your motivation for visiting this excellent website.
I enjoy the chess itself, I enjoy being in a clan, I enjoy being in various clubs and experiencing a variety of chat rooms, I play in chess tournaments and of course I spend a lot of my time here in the public forums which are often good fun and informative.
I find the RHP ex ...[text shortened]... hy do you come to RHP, and how does your time and experience here compare to other Internet portals?
I play for fun mostly, not ratings, My greatest pleasure is sitting in my pajamas in the evening, drinking some premium coffee, a glass of wine or a shot of rum {depending on my mood], and struggling over a difficult game in which Im loosing, and coming up with a solution that wins the game.
Overall the site is good and well managed.

You haven't played chess here for over 8 years, you complain openly about Russ' ability to manage the chess engine users, you classify the chess here poorly, you don't subscribe, you don't use the clubs, the clans or any of the other features and you claim that the forums are "filled with perpetual hate".
I don't get why you bother coming here, unless you are on some sort of twisted mission to spam up as many threads as you can with your autistic mumblings about pathological lying racist raping trolls

Came here to play an old-world correspondence chess opponent. He soon went but I stayed because of the many friends I've made here. There've been some disappointments but overall I'm still happy to be here after 14 years, still playing poor-quality chess and occasionally getting into a forum fight. I don't do social media but like to chat to real people online here.

I told you at the time stay here longer enough and you'll be in some bantering sessions yourself as I preferred to call them. Here we are 14 years later, and you admit to getting into the occasional forum fight.
I am in no way trying to embarrass you in anyway and think you're a good person with very good intentions, but over the years you've seen the occasional forum fight is sometimes required to get your point across. I still think you are a kind person with no malice in you and most likely have made lots of friendships on here.

Someone, I don’t remember who, told me about it. I “played” at chess, not well, but thought let’s give it a go. I have enjoyed it, most especially the people I’ve met and continue to. It, like the real world is full of “interesting” people....some more interesting than others but as I have stated on my profile, “Variety” really is, for me, the spice of life.😁

I was not questioning her being a good person, that we all know. Just reminding her of what she told me back those many years ago. No malice was intended in any way.
