Not a poll, just a discussion about your motivation for visiting this excellent website.
I enjoy the chess itself, I enjoy being in a clan, I enjoy being in various clubs and experiencing a variety of chat rooms, I play in chess tournaments and of course I spend a lot of my time here in the public forums which are often good fun and informative.
I find the RHP ex ...[text shortened]... hy do you come to RHP, and how does your time and experience here compare to other Internet portals?

But I enjoy this site, even though as Duchess pointed out other sites are far better as far as bloggers, problems, and IMO ease of use.

@divegeester saidConversation with a man down our road who it turned out played chess. I remembered playing for about a year at school and liking the game. Decided to learn it properly as a retirement thing so he recommended joining this site as a way of playing games. Decided to subscribe when I saw a tournament that had been entered by a player with a Man City avatar of similar rating.

As a subscriber decided to find a clan so looked at GF and read some posts of people in clans. Started posting in GF just as COVID arrived and the world locked down. Have met some good people and I seem to have lost the directions to the out door.

@moonbus saidYou kid no one moon, you're here because you love it! As you know many other chess sites out there. Just none quite as good as this one especially if you enjoy some bantering in the forum threads from time to time. Some good competition here too.
RHP is my favourite waste of time.
I only wonder about players over 2200 rating, although it is quite possible. Perhaps here to try out things they been working on for tournaments OTB.
