Some of us have the luck and privilege to control much of our social and personal interactions, many don't.
And there's Chris, a Frenchman who, despite being a wee bit self-conscious about it, has voted for Jean-Marie Le Pen and his daughter Marine Le Pen, and Chris has been here a long time and is not popular with other, more leftwing [or even centre-right] French ex-pats.
Despite our distinctly differing perspectives, they are good conversationalists and we have interesting talks.

I'm not entirely convinced it's appropriate to be "kidding" on a thread that's already touched upon things like Nazis, sexual harassment, Putin's government, Jews and anti-semitism, the Cold War and so and so forth...
