You don't need to believe me, but I used to be able to do 1,000 push-ups a day, this was back when I was taking Tae Kwon Do.... granted I only weighed about 130 at the time and was 23 years younger.
Do the push ups, as many as you can as often as you feel you can (don't hurt yourself, work towards a goal)
If you can do 10 now, do 8 every 2 or 3 hour ...[text shortened]... , you don't want to get huge in the chest and arms and have skinny legs.
Good luck.

You should be able to bench your weight or more at least. I can bench 190 about 12 times, and weigh 155lbs.
Figures you're a weakling.
If you want to increase it, do as many push-ups as you can as often as you can, and eat nice balanced meals.

I weigh around 145 and can bench 180 for a set of 10-15 usually depending on the day, but I need to start conditioning again for volleyball.
But, wow, 240 pounds, that is pretty impressive.

Do not watch "bench accident video" in "related videos". Creepy

Originally posted by Very RustyWhoa, just one. That is pushing it for me and I've never tried a second set the same day. I used to do 15 reps of 160 twice a day, and 190 12 times was a 'dare' to myself of sorts to see what I could do. I could probably do 200 6 or so times.

This is all 3 years ago, the birth of my child got me out of the basement. I should work my push-ups to see the damage.
