I hope Arkell gets punished for giving away his black-squared bishop like that. I can't believe he deliberately gave himself such long term problems for the sake of one miserable little pawn.

Bogdan Lalic got his draw. His wife, though, won with astonishing ease. Not many Caro Kanns end with Black winning in under twenty moves!

In the end Jones with surprisingly easily. taking advantage of his opponent's offside king to force home his passed pawn in just a few moves.
Congratulations to David Tebb for chalking up his first win in the Major Open! This leaves him just half a point behind the leaders after a glut of draws on the top boards.
