Games are underway now - Stuart Conquest is having to deal with a wretched c3 sicillian on board 3 - I hope he smashes his opponent up good and proper!
Why are the pairings done in such a strange way? It's like we have the top quartile paired against the second quartile, and then the third quartile paired against the bottom quartile. This will have the effect of having lots of weaker players with 1/1 after the first round. Why is that a good thing?

I don't think that we can be sure about the idendity of Seadevil with Lee Davis. And since some people infer improper behaviour it could be a real defamation problem.
I was trying to imply it subtly (yes, I know it's not my strong point) but that's difficult to do in a thread where anyone can add comments.

Gawain Jones has got quite a nice position with the benko gambit at quite an early stage in the game.
You can buy a wooden pen or whatever from Jones' parents here:

If he wins the British Championships it will probably quadruple in value overnight.

I think Ne2 might be whites best move for 21
Edit: Damn you edited your post to point out that g5 wins the knight on h4.
Edit: How about a sac on g6, giving up a knight for two pawns? Looks ropey, but what else can White do?
