I rarely have checkmated under 20. Usually happens with a surprise opportunity. My opponent preferred to attack rather than develop first. See a checkmate in 10 in my archive game 4268305. This game was played last year with a person on an island 500 miles east of Madagascar.

Interesting thread. I look forward to seeing some of these games.

I've only managed mate in less than 20 move on one occation. It was one of those games When things just seemed to go my way all the way. I'm usually a bit conservative and cautious, but in this game I took the risks and they paid off.
