@pb1022 saidHeres a gold star. You did well.
You’re once again - and once again falsely - claiming that Christians who believe we are saved by Grace through faith don’t think good works and trying our best to obey the commandments are important.
You apparently can’t envision anyone doing good works or obeying the commandments without the threat of hell hanging over them.
You apparently can’t envision anyone doing g ...[text shortened]... the commandments out of love for God and love for their neighbor.
Maybe because you have neither.

@ghost-of-a-duke said<<We are each responsible for our actions and the consequences of those actions, or lack thereof.>>
That's the beautiful thing about atheism. There is no original sin or personification of evil to blame for our predicament. (Temptation or otherwise). We are each responsible for our actions and the consequences of those actions, or lack thereof.
So someone who grew up in an abusive home and commits a sin related to the abuse is equally responsible for that sin as someone who grew up in a loving and supportive home and committed the same sin?
You really think it’s that simplistic?
@sonship saidI recognize that the devil is a 'perceived' opponent of Christians, but with no greater gravitas than Voldemort being the prime opponent of Harry Potter.
If you are recognizing that the Devil is an opponent of the Christians, I would like you to have more realization of the scope of the problem with him. His rebellion is a dynamic withdrawal into vanity, death, futility, evil, and even a "good" which seeks to usurp God's throne.
That is why for years I have emphasized that it is to Christ as LIFE as a living Person of God Himself we must open our beings to to receive.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidSorry about that, my dear sir.
On a Saturday sir?
And yes, I do understand that Saturdays are generally reserved for Creature Features (well, that has been my understanding so far).
As you might have noticed I am at times a complicated confluence of who knows what. <cringe>
