Good works follow faith and are evidence that one’s faith is genuine, but good works do not make one righteous (in right standing with God) or enable one to obtain salvation. Only believing in Jesus Christ and accepting Him into your heart does that.
How many times must you read that before you understand it?
I would not accept a doctrine from you.
Originally posted by @rajk999Then why do you deny/ignore the numerous times He says to believe in Him and on Him for eternal life, and why do you consistently try to separate belief in Christ from good works? Why do you assume, very incorrectly, that Christians who believe in salvation by faith alone don’t do good works?
I answered that already.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Not all who profess will do.
I never said Christians who believe in faith alone dont do good works.
Please quote me where I said that.

What do you think the fruit of the Spirit is that Paul writes about in Galatians?
What do you think Paul meant when he wrote that people who accept Christ become new creatures?
What do you think Jesus Christ meant when He said one must be “born again” to enter the Kingdom of God?
When Jesus Christ have God’s Holy Spirit to His disciples after He was crucified and Resurrected to strengthen them, do you think the indwelling of the Spirit was limited to the disciples? If so, why would Paul write so extensively about the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit in believers?

If a person sincerely believes in Jesus Christ and accepts Him into his or her heart, the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit begins to be exhibited in the new believer’s life as the Holy Spirit changes his or her heart.
If good works do not follow a person’s acceptance of Christ, that is an indication that the acceptance was not sincere and in the heart.

I notice you didn’t bother to answer any of these questions. Are you planning to later, or will you ignore these questions like you ignore so many others?

Holy Spirit is no guarantee that one will
- do good works
- refrain from sin and evil
- follow the commandments of Christ
- enter the Kingdom of God.
The HS is a guide to what is right.
It is up to the individual to follow this guide.
This guide is the light of Christ or Spirit of Christ.
Some Christians will follow this guide and will enter the Kingdom of God
Some will be not follow it and will face desruction.

<<Holy Spirit is no guarantee that one will

This is false as someone who has accepted Christ in their heart and who believe in Him and on Him will receive God’s Holy Spirit, and God’s Holy Spirit will indwell them and change their hearts, resulting in changed behavior and good works.
<<- refrain from sin and evil>>
If by “refrain,” you mean completely refrain and live a sin-free life, you are correct. That is why Paul wrote of the struggle between the Spirit and the flesh and how people will experience this struggle to some extent as long as they are alive on earth.
<<- follow the commandments of Christ>>
Correct, if you mean following them without stumbling.
<<- enter the Kingdom of God.>>
This again is false for the reasons I have said.
But think of this and how illogical your position is. Someone who has sincerely accepted Christ into their hearts will naturally do good works as God’s Holy Spirit indwells him or her and changes their hearts. If they don’t do good works and develop an aversion to sin, it’s evidence their acceptance of Christ and belief in Him were not sincere.
You contend good works alone get one into heaven.
Why do you have such an aversion to accepting Christ into your heart via John 3:16 and Romans 10:9? I suspect it is because of your foolish and sinful pride, whereby you want to be responsible for your own salvation. Stop puffing out your chest - God is not impressed by your chest puffing and neither is anyone else.

God’s Holy Spirit indwells anyone who sincerely accepts Christ into his or her heart and God’s Holy Spirit will change the heart of the new believer, resulting in the new believer performing good works and developing an aversion to sin (and therefore sinning less.)
The sincere acceptance of Christ makes one righteous (in right standing with God) in God’s eyes and is the only requirement for salvation. Good works and developing an aversion to sin are simply manifestations of God’s Holy Spirit being within a believer - they are not a requirement for salvation. See John 3:16 and Romans 10:9 - nowhere do those verses say one must do good works or live a sin-free life to be saved.
In fact, as long as we are in the flesh, we will not be able to live a completely sin-free life.
